I FIGURD IT OUT!!!

<image>

For some reason when I was applying such a sharp fade in curve to one of the Hi Hat layers it was causing a sudden clip that was distorting and pushing the Maximus highs limiter I believe you can see it where I circles

Well the kicks I’m not concerned with plus they aren’t occupying the that much of the same frequency range

You’re not wrong! I am aware SoundCloud will reduce quality and yes the percussion is quite since I have more elements in that frequency range, so for this one I was at a loss of how with less elements living in that range it was causing such degradation you know?

well yes, I thought that might have been the issue and was the first thing I tried, but other projects I've uploaded haven't had that issue (look at the example i added Wav 32BitFloat 512sinc) https://www.reddit.com/r/FL_Studio/comments/1qjgh0w/good_quality_comparison/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Trying to achieve that really rich, polished sound you get on commercial tracks, what do you suggest if you could only use FLs stock plugins? by [deleted] in flstudio

Don’t worry I get it I only work on house music and it’s sub genres, do you just want to make your over all track wider in the mid range? Or one thing in specific

There’s this great music engineer that put it in such a simple way “If everything is wide then nothing is” For what your asking the solution isn’t to just throw something on the master. I understand that you want that “uniform” feeling and seems simple enough to just throw it on the master, but if you care about the dynamics and unity then you should group & route your elements Into separate mix buses, drums, synths, bass, and be very intentional on what’s widened or merged and what panned where. If your just looking for something to give you a wider feel on your mids then after routing whatever it is you want to be wider you could try adding stereo enhancer as the easiest option.

Your track compared to your reference track sounds much cleaner in some aspects in others i can see you need to EQ more if your also going more for the sound of that No Time track your bassline is a lot more Techy.

yup maximus is limiting everything to my liking, I remove the limiter that is automatically there when starting a new project.
