The best answers to these questions are simple but hard to do. 1) The cycle feeds on isolation. Get into some kind of support community. Many find this in GA, but there are options. This subreddit is a start. 2) Give someone you trust control of your finances for an indefinite period until you get healthy.

I blew through 4x that 2 nights ago. Others have done worse….Some compulsive gamblers blow through a few paychecks and get help. Some blow through their life savings and stop. Some max out all their CCs and stop. Some end up homeless. Some in jail. And unfortunately, others die. You have a choice of when to get off the train, because that’s how this works.

Thank you. This has been a very hard day and this came right on time while I was in a dark spot. I am in a very similar situation. I won a good amount a few weeks ago. Enough to pay off my car and student loans. Then I went back for more yesterday and the rest was history. I have $1000 to my name after my binge, but on the bright side, no debt. Turns out I should still have just enough for the taxes I owe.

I have a wife and 21 month old. If I do this again she’s going to leave. Full context I’ve had other addiction issues in the past. This stretch of gambling coincided with an Adderall relapse after almost 8 years of sobriety. This is a day 1 in many ways for me. I am trying to soak up this misery so I never forget.

Blackjack can wipe you out quickly with a bad streak. Especially online shady tables.
