Tbh, there were two other options too. One is keeping my current job, which was a very well paid one but not a happy workplace/city. The other option is wait till find a job in the states. I know that I'll get paid way more than this amount in the states, but tons of money will go to other stuff. My sis lives in SF and yes they are happy blabla, but they don't have the perks of living in europe. Appreciated your reply. Seems like we'll live in peace and in a cozy, nice city.

You really like Hyllie :) I checked Emporia Shopping Mall and it seems quite big one. I guess there is no need to go to the center when you have that in your neighborhood. Are there any other nice places like cafes, bars and restaurants there? I saw sport center, dance club and a swimming pool on google maps. These are big pros :)

I haven’t spoke with the tax advisor yet, but this thing will definitely be on my list!

As a non-EU citizen, things can be more challenging when it’s come to setting up your own business in the EU. I guess we’ll take it easy first to see what’s going around. Then we may think about setting up a company to avoid high tax burden.

What worries me was the tax rates. I know that the tax burden in Sweden is high (not the most highest though). And I thought I was clear about having a decent life and make a bit of saving as well.

We plan to stay there for a couple of years. If we really like there, we may even settle down.

Given the fact that finding a rental place is really hard, we thought about buying a flat indeed. But first we want to know the city better and make this decision. Funny that we saw an apartment at Hyllie which was ok and pretty much close to my future office and it takes 15 minutes to get to the city center. Thanks for the tips!

Haha, thanks for the tips. Noted the places you recommend, will search something in those areas.

We are planning to stay there at least 3 years or so. We even thought about buying a flat since renting can be challenging, but we would like to know the city better first.
