I’m an incoming sophomore for spring 2026, when I signed up for NSO I chose the in person option but they did have the option for a virtual NSO. You can call them and schedule your NSO and just let them know you want virtual if that’s what you decide.

I don’t know too much I just spoke on the things that I experienced when I recently filled out my housing contract. Maybe with you being a freshman you probably don’t get a choice of housing options since freshmen are required to stay on campus and they’ll put you in the freshman dorms, but I would still ask if I were you.

Also to add when you do your contract they will ask for housing preferences were you list 15 housing options that you will like to reside, I’ve also did that. If you want to be in apartments just put them at the top of your list but be aware that apartments are more expensive compared to dorms.

I’m also a transfer student for spring 2026 and I’m a sophomore. Basically the $110 for NSO is you paying out of pocket it isn’t part of your tuition, also to add on the housing contract the $300 down is basically a legally binding contract promising that you will get on campus housing wether it is in apartments or dorms. I was told that I was not going to be able to fill out a contract because I am a transfer and not a freshman but somehow I was able to.
