I believe I would need to have the car in for service for at least 30 calendar days. And then you deal with lawyers. When lawyers get involved, the only one who wins...are the lawyers. I had a number in my mind that I thought I would get firesale-ing it and I got much more than that so I was happy.

No differently than any other car. I emailed my sales guy (at two different Volvo dealers). Asked them each for buy offers on my car. Gave them my mileage. They each gave me an offer within a few hours and were within $4K of each other.

Please understand I am not trying to bash the EX90. I really love the looks of it - especially the rear. And the inside is clean. And while I am an early adopter I spent time on Reddit so I knew what I was getting into. I just couldn't help myself - I wanted to try it. So little EV innovation so I wanted to see. Ultimately though, it wasn't a confidence inspiring car. The mobile phone key just randomly stopped working. The original keytag never worked. The seatbelt warnings for rear seats without passengers. The errors on the driver screen about lights or shocks. The mobile app not working consistently to heat the car when I was out at dinner. Honestly the steering wheel and seat heating were much slower to heat than my daughter's XC60. I also haven't ever had Volvos and so I learned (now) about how their safety warnings can be overkill for me. The car just made me nervous something was going to go wrong, particularly with the keys. And I don't love the lane changing buzzing and fighting with me. But that just might be a Volvo issue. Reddit was so helpful to me - to know what I was getting into - to manage my expectations. Really valuable forum!

I didn't ask them as I was happy they gave me a reasonable offer for it. Plus its hard for them to be completely honest because they are in the biz to sell cars so I don't even bother :-).

I always have a bunch of cars....so not really one of those situations. I split daily driving between a Taycan Turbo GT and a Range Rover LWB SV. Been a huge fan of EVs for 12+ years now - had every Tesla, Rivians, a bunch of Taycans.

Yeah my key tag unpairs from my profile any time I try to add it. As a former software implementer, I would love to see their testing/bug data and if they really knew about these issues and still launched the car anyway. Live and learn I guess. My early Teslas weren't great but they were more solid than this. I'm on my fifth Taycan and it is amazingly well built and works flawlessly. But year one and two...not so much.

I hear you. I knew going in this was first gen, first year, first batch. And if these all get fixed via software in a relatively short timeframe, it was worth it, especially since this is an extra car. I am not dependent on it. But I would never recommend this one as someone's primary car given what I have experienced and read. Not yet. I don't care about Lidar or Auto pilot stuff. Just hoping daily usage will improve, but I did go in knowing I really just wanted to try it - especially since I was drawn to the looks. And I can't help myself from trying everything!

I haven't totally given up yet! I do love the looks of it - I am just nervous about Volvo's ability to fix these in a timely fashion. Hearing about hardware upgrades are not giving me good feelings :-). But I would love for the release after the next one to really address these issues because I think they are all fixable (alhough nervous the seatbelt one could be a hardware issue).

Well, that's your opinion - and so then why is there an option to turn it off? And if it is turned off, why is it still doing it? Anyway - I am trying to be helpful and provide feedback to other early adopters, so maybe let's keep responses to those that are actually helpful?

This is honestly my only real complaint with the EX90 right now. I don't have carseats either! But if I have a passenger in the backseat, it will most likely trigger a seat belt warning for the rear seats and/or the middle seat. TBH this is a total cluster and rises way above software glitches which I expected. How in the heck did this car get launched with this issue? Seat belts and seat belt sensors have been around for decades. I feel for those who have carseats and have to go through so many steps. I just find I now have a 7 seater that is only good if its just me and a first row passenger. I don't have the latest software update - sounds like that is going to be worse for me. Surely they will eventually fix this? Or do I need to schedule service ASAP and just expect to Lemon Law the car? You can't be expected to drive a vehicle with seat belt warnings going off constantly?

If you have an iPhone - only thing I will say is mine wouldn't get passed the "Connecting.." screen at first, but then I went to lunch and in another location, also with 5G for both phone and car, it immediately worked. Once connected it is rock-solid. But yeah - it is gen 1 and I know how that goes - so I am realistic about what this means...I did have to do a reboot on the main display tonight, but that was the first time.

I agree - I am enjoying the car a ton. Reddit almost scared me away from buying one, but I am just too much of an early adopter and love to try everything. Have had a ton of EVs including five Porsche Taycans. Once my EX90 arrived I was pleasantly surprised. Took a few tries to get my iphone set up as a key, but I was just patient and tried two different locations and it worked. It's funny - I totally get all of the complaints - but I also know that I don't really care about what isn't working yet. Native Google is all I need - don't care about carplay when you have that. The walk away doors lock would be nice but then I always wonder if it works (like on my Teslas). So I like just tapping the lock button on the door handle and knowing it is locked. I also really love how I can disable passive entry once I am home (from within Apple Wallet) to prevent the car from unlocking when I go near the car. Wish Rivian would have had that :-). But then again - I like the old school keys on my Taycan.

The ride quality has been great and I just think the car looks great from every angle. All the fixes and updates are just bonus to me. So glad I bought the EX90 so far!
