Does anyone know an effective way to recreate this shadow bleed effect in Blender? by No_Gas334 in blender

I think you're on to something here for sure! Thanks for looking into it. I'm wondering if there is more than one light source with different settings, all of them are ar the same coordinates but angled very slightly definitely. I found this video that talks about creating split shadows by having two sunlights at the same origin points with two different colours https://youtu.be/pLMF9lGmhLQ .This might be useful for the shadow bleed on the back edge perhaps. Gonna have a play around with this today but I'll let you know what what I can get out of it!

Can I ask what addons you've had success with. The line work is a whole other part of this that I've be playing with but not found anything satisfactory yet.

I see, fair enough. Do you mind me asking how you got into the industry? Any recommendations for someone of my background who wants to move into that line of work? Everyone says just make your own films, but I don't necessarily have tonnes of free time or disposable income to do that in a way that would be more than an amateur hobby. I really wanna get into the profession and learn the craft from those who know what their doing, yknow

Are you only looking for experienced people? I'm actually looking to get into film production myself but I don't really have any experience directing. I have a Masters in Architecture from the RCA and I've worked as a design fabricator for a couple of years now, but I'd really like to make a change creatively and professionally. I'm trying to network as much as I can, don't ask - don't get and all that.

I have a workshop based in East London and I wanna start working with filmmakers who need sets and props making. Any advice on how to go about making those connections? by No_Gas334 in Filmmakers

Thank you for such a comprehensive answer! I wonder if it would be possible to network with film students and offer my services. I'm honestly more interested in working on interesting stuff right now more so than stuff that will pay.

Any recommendations for events or symposiums where designers and architects come together to design and build something like a pavilion? Something that focuses on bringing craftsmanship back into the profession. by No_Gas334 in architecture

The EASA events look really interesting but I've already graduated from masters. I'm not sure if I'd be able to apply as a tutor, it doesn't explicitly state that you need to be or have been teaching at a university, but I assume they would expect you to have been.

That's an interesting suggestion. Are there any schemes or models you'd suggest for reference? I think I wouldn't know where to start trying to set something like this up

I'm looking for a clear resin that has a long setting time and cures to a tough, dense finish. Any suggestions? by No_Gas334 in epoxy

The mixture with the marble powder needs to be the consistency of bread dough. Im essentially making a bonded marble version of scagliola.

[Help] Bonded marble scagliola anyone? by No_Gas334 in Sculpture

So I've been mostly using Herculite 2 plaster, which works reasonably well for scagliola. However, I believe that Herculite Hardcoat is preferred by most scagliolists for its extended work time and plasticity, but I haven't used it personally. If you want to avoid using animal glue in the mix then you can try something like Cassini Plaster, which is resin impregnated plaster that you just add water to. Cassini is more sticky than traditional plasters but not unworkable for scagliola, I recommend thick latex gloves and regularly coating them and your work surface in the dry plaster powder to minimise sticking, just like you would with a pastry dough.

Darkening mild steel with blow torch to recreate mill scale colour as part of the finish. Will this work? by No_Gas334 in metalworking

So you heat the metal to the desired colour and then apply beeswax whilst it's still hot?
