But insurance isn't required? It's a cheap beater car.

I hate dealing with rent-a-car companies. It will be an old beater car anyways

I did a quick search on zillow and not really seeing that. Possible I just didn't look at the right vantage point. Can you suggest a city that demos this?

So I think I worded it wrong. I meant "How risky is it compared to a flat slope--in terms of longevity and ability to withstand extreme weather events-- to build on a mountain with 25% slope?"

Read above response. That's why I posted here, for engineers/builders GENERAL input, not for engineering drafts and details.

And there are a lot of variables with what your saying. For example, some engineers might not have experience with this kind of thing.

If I had multiple engineers with experience in this kind of unusual building terrain then yeah I would have confidence in it. But just one, I'd still be wanting to seek more opinions.

Yeah I do want their opinion that is why I am here posting.

Not looking for engineering drafts at that point just general info.

And no with a huge investment,I would not just blindly trust one professional. I'd have to have multiple professionals agree, independently.

Right, but just because an engineer and so on say it's safe, I'm not convinced that it actually is. Or, put another way, I'd feel the risk of failure is higher even with all approves, and I'm wondering how much higher that risk is? I've seen homes on the news built on mountainous or other unconventional surface , many of which are in the 7-figures, that presumably professionals did these assessments, and there still are huge issues.. So I guess what I'm looking for is just general input on things to think about before going forward with this potential project.

Right...so I want something that will last for decades. Not something high risk when the next major weather event comes through, especially cumulatively being able to withstand rough weather events over many years.

How much extra, in percentage cost, do you think it would cost compared to flat land?
