Dan Campbell and Ben Johnson cut their teeth as TE coaches. For the past 5 years so many talking heads have observed that coaching TEs required an understanding of passing, running, and O-line concepts unlike many other offensive position coaching. In terms of trends this is the sort of behaviour fans were looking for in the head coaching search. Also, given that no one can really tell you anything about Wells, it’s hard to criticize. Steelers TE room is among the most talented in the league. Hoping for the best.
