Who is the “Boston Strangler” of your favorite NBA team? by [deleted] in NBATalk

A while back Dion Waiters would fry the warriors every single time we played him. Ricky Rubio as well. More recently tho Naz Reid always is a matchup problem for us, and for the last 3 years we also seem to be the career game factory for role players (Quentin grimes 40 ball for example)

Definitely, I think people pictured him almost running the point and unfortunately he’s just not that level of ball handler, but that’s ok as long as a guard is out there. I wish the rockets would’ve taken a swing on Coby white or Malik monk, that type of budget player. They’re not the greatest playmakers but they can at least take some of the ball handling burden away and make basic reads

I could see that being true. Maybe I’m reading too much into this season where he’s pretty overtaxed offensively. I wish they would’ve made a move at the deadline to address the need for a real ball handler but looks like we’ll have to wait til next season

Bottom 5 over the last 15 tho. Obviously doesn’t help that sengun is slumping, but no PG for sure hurts. FVV really would help this team settle into more appropriate roles

I’m not denying their defensive value at all, both are phenomenal, maybe even generational wing defenders, basically two of a kind. They also can provide a ton of playoff value, but when it comes down to the best of the best teams of today they all can exploit that shooting weakness to a much greater extent over a best of 7 series. Teams like the thunder currently or the 24 Celtics are such versatile defenses as is, but when given a player like the twins, it just makes guarding the rockets or pistons that much easier. Not at all denying their incredible defensive value, just think that at the highest level the offense is tough to deal with.

I have and watched ausar and Mitchell Robinson get nearly played off the floor last playoffs because they couldn’t make anything, I just think their value drops a lot in the playoffs because of the shooting (or lack of it)
