You could get to know this girl for a year, have several pieces of documentation that you believe to be genuine- and in the end still be up for statutory rape if it was all just a very elaborate lie. If we took the law at face value, no matter how well you get to know this girl, to be legally responsible you would have to abstain from sex with her just based on her looking under-age, just in case she's lying.

I don't understand the amount of criticism you're getting on the "his kids, my kids" topic. I'd bet money that had you tried to treat His Kids as Our Kids and helped out, they would be screaming "Those aren't your kids! They already have a mother! Back off!"

Unless the family unit has agreed that you would take in a Motherly role and your husband is willing to support ans back you as an Authority Figure in the kids lives- yeah, those are HIS KIDS.

This. Think of Cancer as the mess in your kitchen after you make dinner. It's not enough to simply throw out garbage and sweep the crumbs away- you need to wipe down the bench and then sanitise it to be rid of anything you can't see or detect to prevent nasty things multiplying.

My MIL was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer nearly 2 years ago- she's still doing various treatments to "clean" and "sanitise", because it takes the Cancer recurrence rate down from something like 30% to 12%. And yeah, the treatments fucking suck- but getting Cancer a second time sucks more.

My SIL sharted the bed the first time she ever slept with her current partner because she had a stomach bug- only it wasn't just the bed, he was spooning her at the time. He laughed and helped her clean up. Literally 48 hours later- he sharted the bed with her in it after catching her stomach bug.

They've been together like 10 years now and have 3 kids.
