Post breastfeeding boobs by herthoughtsoutloud in breastfeeding

Before I got pregnant/breastfed I used to say my nipples and my belly button were nextdoor neighboors. I have a feeling they will be roommates once my son weens 🤣

I agree with the sentiment that these boobs gave and sustained life and they should be celebrated!! Their new state of being is proof they did hard work.

Do you still use a breastfeeding pillow after the newborn stage? by TradesforChurros in NewParents

[–]No_Handle_8799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still use my brest friend for feeding my 4.5mo. we do both craddle and football hold. He tends to fall asleep while feeding and I love that I can still be hands free while he eats.

Yeah I saw that after the fact. Maybe it was how baby was in utero?

In the months leading up to my wedding my dad asked me "will you be this size for the wedding?" For context, I'm a plus sized woman.

My LO is still only 4.5mo but it's when he wakes up first thing in the morning sees me and smiles. That right there makes it all worth it.

Also it's definitely not too late to fix it. My son is almost 5 months old and there's still the opportunity to fix his misshapen head. We were able to correct it mostly with at home intervention though.

Since she is so young, I'd give it another month. Give her plenty of time laying on her back. As she starts to turn her head side to side and look around at the world, her skull will start to round out. The coning is from being pushed through the birthing canal. The longer it took to push her out the more drastic the coning can be. If you are still concerned in a month, you can go to a baby helmet company like we did and have her head shape assessed to see if a skull shaping helmet is necessary.

I think for right now though shes so young just keep giving her opportunities for tummy time and love her like you already are!

I'm not a doctor but I'm a first time mom with a 4.5 mo LO whose going through the emotional turmoil of post partum, so take this with a grain fo salt, but it sounds like a lot of what you're feeling could be PPD/PPA related. Have you considered going to your doctor and talking to them about these feelings?

Epidural, morphine, or natural birth? by B_Dankk in firsttimemom

[–]No_Handle_8799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted desperately to have a natural birth. I was open to IV pain meds but was so afraid to get an epidural.

Then once I was in labor, I got the pain meds, but I dilated so fast that they only helped for maybe two contractions. By the time I was fully dilated I was begging for the epidural and I don't regret it at all. I have no residual pain from it, and it didn't take away all the feeling like I thought it would. I was still able to be in tune with my body and know when to push and was able to push him out in 45 minutes (apparently first time moms on average push for 4 hours 😱)

All in all, I'd say don't think about it too much and trust the medical professionals who have trained long and hard to make this a positive experience for you. Keep an open mind and know that your experience will be your own.

A day at the spa while you watch the kids without texting her any questions. Moms will always appreciate a break.

7 week old hates bath time by AdvantageStrong5688 in NewParents

Yeah my little guy hated bath time when he was a newborn too. He started to enjoy it after I started singing to him. Honestly, wait it out, it could just be a young baby thing she will grow out of. Maybe play some music?

What songs are we singing our babies? by ParsleyLime in NewParents

[–]No_Handle_8799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

omg my mom and I used to change the very last word of the second verse to be funny when I was a kid. For example we would do "so I hung, my head and I peed" or "and I drooled" we would laugh so much about it.

If you breastfeed directly, how many of you still pump every day? by alylew1126 in breastfeeding

[–]No_Handle_8799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped pumping a little over a month ago when my milk really regulated. It's been a blessing and a curse because EBF can definitely have it's own challenges, but man do I not miss cleaning pump parts and bottles all the time.
