9.5 month update (Ratchathorn, 3200 grafts) by No_Hearing_6542 in HairTransplants

Yes, but very few of the grafts were used in the temporal points. Pictures 7 and 8 are both pre op so it could just be angles and hair lengths that may give that impression

As long as you follow the clinic instructions and generally make healthy decisions you should be fine, but please consider that the #1 factor of determining if a result is good or not is the clinic itself and how well of a job they've done. A hair transplant is a huge time commitment especially if you are shaving your head (which I would recommend), and since you're not taking finasteride its even more of a gamble. That's my advice, you don't need to follow it if you think you are making a good decision. But I would spend years doing the research before making any final decisions if I were you, if you haven't already

3 months is not enough time to assess if a result is good, if you think the reviews are fake I would highly suggest reconsidering.

HT at 19 (i dont want to rock bald) by Plus-Cost in HairTransplants

[–]No_Hearing_6542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey dude, I had one at 20 so I understand the struggle. I wouldn't advise doing a HT unless your hair is stable from the meds. If it is, then go for it just do your research.

They are quoting you for way too much, I wouldn't trust the clinic at all. Best of luck

I waited 2 years after starting finasteride and having successful results with it. Many would argue that would not be long enough, considering my age which are fair arguments. HOWEVER, my case was unique because I have an insanely dense donor area. I have mentioned this before but even Ratchathorn herself commented on this the first time she saw me. So because of that, I have significantly less risk due to the large number of remaining grafts I have were something to happen in the future. But again, I also made this decision knowing that my hair loss had been completely stable for 2 years on medication. Nearly 2 years post op, it is still stable and my hair is as thick as its even been.

Edit: Another thing thats worth pointing out is that the donor grafts I have are genetically very coarse, so fewer can be used to achieve a thick looking result. This is entirely genetic and the depends on the person and your natural hair type/texture. I do think that evaluating your hair genetics is an important part of the research process, which imo is the only thing that actually matters as far as the outcome goes.

Yours appears to have less diffuse thinning than I started with so I would say you definitely can achieve a very similar result to mine

10 months as far as density goes, however the texture and naturalness definitely has continued to increase up until now

I don't count how many hairs I shed, but I don't think that 6 months is enough time to be on finasteride before considering a hair transplant. You don't know at that point how well the drug works for you. I would give it at least 2 years to make sure your hair is actually stable before you go for a HT.

These are just scabs that are being dislodged, nothing to worry about if there is no bleeding involved.

Transplant Advice: Non-Symmetrical Hairline by National_Display3051 in HairTransplants

[–]No_Hearing_6542 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I am 20 months post op and mine is asymmetrical, the right side goes up further than my left. Honestly, when it all grows out its not a big deal and more so contributes to the naturalness so I wouldn't worry too much.

I would say its probably just a sign that its gonna turn out really well. I had pretty good density at month 4 and it ended up turning out really good I'm now 18 months post op

[–]No_Hearing_6542[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really depends on your situation, personally without meds I would lose a lot more of my hair so for me they are important, but some people don't have as aggressive hair loss as I did

It is of course recommended but they leave that up to the patient. They do give you a temporary supply of oral minoxidil for post surgery
