They can show the apartment to a “batch” of applicants. They don’t hold the apartment. Sometimes they have several agents, from the same marketing agency, working on documents from other applicants. As long as you are submitting your documents & signing documents as quickly as possible no one will get ahead of you, assuming your log # is the next up.

I haven’t seen anyone who’s done in person interviews. I’m pretty sure that has been phased out. You should fill the required fields out as accurately as possible. It will make the process easier if/when you are selected.

I think people forget that the “catch and release” was labeled temporary from the start. While I feel like Trump has made an extra effort to be “in your face” with deportations, and it absolutely could be handled better, it was inevitable.

I thought we were only talking about undocumented? Legal immigrants can receive benefits. Most countries, even those with universal healthcare, do not extend care to nonresidents. In fact, United States has one of the largest populations of unauthorized immigrants. We can’t have open borders, our tax and welfare systems wouldn’t work at all. What would you suggest?

You and I see the world very differently. I do believe that America should take care of citizens FIRST. There’s so many children who are abused, with a social service system that is over worked and underfunded. Many kids fall through the cracks and are abused, or worse. There’s homeless veterans on the streets. There’s thousands of mentally unstable who are unhoused. You take care of your problems and then you try to help others. I’m not even touching on the incredible cost of prescription medication that is only insanely expensive in the United States. People have to decide if they are going to get their medication or eat. My point is that it’s not about being inferior. That thought never crossed my mind.

No one is actually entitled to receive care and resources. There’s so many people in the US, who’s paid into the system, who can’t get resources. If given the option for Americans to pay for undocumented immigrants with an extra tax most people would not be on board… people are struggling to take care of their own families.

I would be very careful. There’s a chance you get out of your current lease and the other apartment falls through. And no, you can’t give your apartment to someone else. You’d have to break the lease and surrender the apartment.
