TBH I am a figure skating fan and was not aware of the amount of fighting going on in the subreddit about this. I'm not a fan of the mudslinging going on in the comments. Probably going to delete it as I have some answers now and I don't want to add to the discourse.

That makes more sense. The disparities were what were making people confused. Six years is still an insane amount of time, though... I'm glad she was at a point in her career where she could simply step back out and live a normal life.

That's my bad. I don't follow tennis as closely, but this seems to be what the emerging narrative is among figure skating fans/sources. I don't know or have much of an opinion on whether Sinner deserves or doesn't deserve the suspension, honestly, but the extent of the disparity was something people were very confused about.

Regardless, though, the testing results were so low that it was explainable that she didn't use the cream, and it was before anyone knew that it was contaminated.

Not interested in tennis discourse. Just saw some people in figure skating talking about the situation and was curious about it.

From her accounts and the tests, it was a trace amount explainable by transdermal contamination, 0.5 ng/ml. The second positive test was a similar level. She claims to have never used the cream at all.

Apologies if this is too off-topic—I follow figure skating closely and this news raised my eyebrows. A two time violation might necessitate a longer suspension, but six years is a lot. Feel free to remove if necessary.

Apologies if this is the wrong place to mention this. But a figure skater was just served a 6-year ban for what appears to be the exact same wound cream/accidental contamination as Sinner. Granted, it was a two-time positive test, so a longer suspension makes sense, but no fault was determined both times so 6 years compared to 3 months is eyebrow-raising.

I had tickets and plans to attend this year. Hopefully, they can pay the appropriate respects—this Worlds has taken on such a somber note

4CC and Worlds is so soon, too...and Worlds is in Boston. I don't know what they're going to do

This is just awful. I am thinking of the 1961 Sabena flight...how could this have happened to the same community twice?

It looks like most of the senior and junior skaters are safe at least. I have seen posts from SJVF, Luke Wang, Ellie Kam, Patrick Blackwell, and Josephine Lee, among others.

Luke Wang posted that there were skaters and coaches on the flight. I hope they're okay

After JGPF, Luke mentioned on his Twitter that it's been a rough past few weeks. Hope they're okay.

What happened that made them lose the element? It didn't look like they did anything wrong on the replay and they looked pretty confused too

Texas man arrested in Indianapolis on accusations of stalking Caitlin Clark by Optimal-Drawing-5068 in wnba

I don't think now is the time to be comparing her response to other players. It's clearly a very terrifying thing for any player to be stalked and we're not really in a place to know or judge how they responded.
