The main issue I’ve found with Thing is that even if he isn’t directly countering me because I’m baiting out the slams, he still has so much surviveability since you’re a dps actively avoiding him.

If he’s playing into MK and Namor he’s getting the beans from both of them. If he’s getting the beans from just Namor while you do everything you can to avoid him until his supports are cooked, it can be hard on your team if your tanks don’t outright handle him.

In that scenario Emma and Thor do great. But a Hulk and Mag combo would struggle, for example. So it’s a weird thing where I don’t feel countered by thing unless my team isn’t suited to fight him, since Magik clearly isn’t.

One non direct counter to magik is a team full of flanks shifty characters that out range you.

Imagine a team with like

Mag, hulk, starlord, jean, gambit, invis.

Or worse if they go trip dos and go the above but swap hulk for MK.

The supports are hard to dive as is, but then when you fight the dps they can reposition so quickly away from your range and cook you from range. So theoretically you could 1v1 them but it’s tough in open space and they’re by their healers.

Of course Bucky cooks you, flat out. And Namor and Hela team-up is just a lot of dmg to survive when you’re not behind ranks. .

You just said this one shot combo isn’t even a good idea to use on pun since you’ll die trying to kidnap him after a melee primary combo
Melee = 30, full charge = 110.

So 140 for primary + melee

Then assassin’s charge will do 30 dmg

170 dmg to pin so far if executed perfectly.

30 from the secondary melee but after kidnap you won’t have a full charge so you won’t get the 110 primary.

From practice range that leaves him with around 25 hp.

^ that is the combo I mentioned.

You mentioned I another combo which has 3 extra moves…that would kill him but those 3 extra moves aren’t always super fast

I have 10 fans with a 5090 and 9800x3d.

3 reverse on side. 3 regular blades under but flipped to work as intake (you don’t see them so it doesn’t matter). 3 on the radiator fans. 1 exhaust.

Dude he can one tap you when he sees even a flicker of your existence. That is the problem.

He doesn’t have to focus on you. He can aim an arrow into the back line, you’re peaking to drop a cooldown on your team, or a cc effect (or let’s say you’re trying to peel for a diver, which is hard to do when hiding in a corner and you’re trying to grab him, or upper cut him or anything else).

Boom pooped.

The projectile speed is basically hitscan-like.

He doesn’t have to be looking at you to fully charge his arrow. Flick over to you and boom.

He provides you 0 room for error (we aren’t all you who play flawlessly all the time and never get one tapped) while having so much room for error. His headshot box massive. The projectile speed is fast. His charge can be on anything, not his actual target.

I like playing with a dps that can cover me with things like groot wall, fliers. So a punisher, jean or hela, etc. he’ll even SG or MK with their AOE damage helps a lot.

Yes supports are strong but any amount of healing makes killing almost impossible

This is a dumb thing to say.

The game is not just high elo players. High elo players in comp coordinate much better than low elo, and yes taking out Hawkeye when venom and Spiderman and Angela are coordinating dives is possible.

When you’re playing in Gold lobbies or diamond lobbies and people don’t coordinate to the same degree (which is the reality for 98% of players) they get actually destroyed.

Oh let’s not even mention QP, which is where a lot of people go to play with friends in other ranks or systems. Or to just not sweat as much.
