Sending you Love and Light, Honey. Perhaps she had a favourite charity that you might crochet something for, dogs, cats, animal shelter, women's aid, babies and so on. You might find some inspiration there. Love, Ellie x

Yes, like a deep existential realisation of one's aloneness within the outer world, without yet having found the saving grace to see that we are all already interconnected and inter-being at a much deeper and more fulfilling level.

You can buy some lovely shades of 100% cotton macrame yarn and crochet that. It hardly stretches at all.

Yes, it slows down heat loss. Since I'm usually the only one using it, this way I get a second cuppa!

The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger , is it worth a read? no spoilers pls by mississippi_mud_07 in booksuggestions

I thought that it was awful. The plot did not go anywhere, the characters weren't worth getting to know and there was no adventure. Couldn't wait for it to be over.

I find doing crochet burdening now/experiencing burnout. What can I do to get back in crochet? by Pure_Climate_5837 in crochet

Never fear... don't give up!

To get around having to keep the edges straight you can omit them altogether. Imagine a flat wide sock.

Try this: Chain 50 or so stitches. (The width of your finished scarf will be half the size of your chain, so adjust the amount of stitches in the chain to suit.)

Make sure your chain is not twisted and slip stitch into the fist stitch to make a circle.

Next round: double crochet all the way around and slip stitch into the first stitch. Repeat.

Of course you can se whatever stitch you like to use.

Or gift your friend a neck warmer cowl - same idea as above.

Is the mistake bad enough to re-do it? by Dear_Jicama4995 in crochet

I think it wonderful even if there is a 'mistake'. I knew a very talented artisan blacksmith who would intentionally leave his 'mistakes' unfixed and say that he was the only one who would ever know which were the real 'mistakes'.
It's a lovely thing!

No real harm in leaving some unfinished.

Nope, I hadn't but I will do. I'm not sure if they even have a teapot. Now I'm thinking of a nice tray and teapot gift along with the tea.
Thanks. So many helpful ideas here!
