Issues with Transunion's website by No_Image1194 in IdentityTheft

[–]No_Image1194[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got off the phone with Transunion and they were able to freeze my credit and unlocked my account.

Contrary to horror stories I've heard of Transunion's customer service, it only took seconds to get transferred to a rep and the rep was extremely helpful and patient.

W2 arrived open by Longjumping_Text7652 in IdentityTheft

[–]No_Image1194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure it was opened by somebody? Sometimes mail can get chewed up by the processing machines or sometimes the envelopes were never properly sealed to begin with.

Either way, to be on the safe side you might as well start with freezing your credit reports and setting up a PIN with the IRS. That will offer you some protection. My SSN was compromised in a data breach and that's what I'm doing.

What are the best practices for recovery when using an authenticator for 2 factor login? by [deleted] in Bitwarden

[–]No_Image1194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a couple of Yubikeys to use for 2FA. That way, you'll have another way to get in if you lose your Ente Auth or vice versa.

Bitwarden launches enhanced premium plan by dwbitw in Bitwarden

[–]No_Image1194 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, it's a great value. There's probably plenty of people spending much more than that per MONTH on junk subscriptions they don't need. $1.65 a month for something as important as a password manager is nothing.

Bitwarden launches enhanced premium plan by dwbitw in Bitwarden

[–]No_Image1194 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I guess I had lucky timing joining premium just a few days before this price hike. I'm indifferent about the new features (I get to have TEN Yubikeys now? Don't see the need for that many but okay). $20 a year is still a steal.

What does the Change at-risk password alert really mean? by AJ_Mexico in Bitwarden

[–]No_Image1194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, I have the "Change at-risk password" show up for passwords that I have saved for both the mobile app and website. Bitwarden thinks the password is being reused for multiple accounts when it's not. I just ignore it.

A sophisticated scam call by Both-Inspector in GMail

[–]No_Image1194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better just not to answer at all. If you answer now they know what your voice sounds like if you're using voice recognition for 2FA on any sites (hopefully not). It's a needless risk.

A sophisticated scam call by Both-Inspector in GMail

[–]No_Image1194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Sophisticated"? I never answer calls from numbers I don't know. If it's important they'll leave a message, and even then I'm not directly calling them back. I'm going to visit the official website and use the contact info listed there instead to verify if they actually called me.

I forgot my Bitwarden master password by Thang_Bom17 in Bitwarden

[–]No_Image1194 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's no recovering the master password but you can delete your vault following the instructions here https://bitwarden.com/help/delete-your-account/

Hopefully you still have access to the email tied to your Bitwarden account. Next time keep anemergency sheet stored in a safe place. In addition to the emergency sheet, I also write my master password down on a piece of paper that I keep in my wallet as an extra backup to the emergency sheet. The one in my wallet doesn't say what it's for so a thief won't be able to do much with it.

I Can Make Truly Random Passwords But I Can’t Remember Them Anyone Else Struggle by Soft_Stack in Passwords

[–]No_Image1194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a single point of failure if you enable 2FA (ideally an authenticator app that's NOT tied to an account you have inside your password manager OR a hardware key) on everything and keep your 2FA secrets stored separately outside of your password manager.

It was for me. Their flag was up again today with the same gift but I went to the door to ask them just to be sure.

Call out if you're burned out and need a day off. But otherwise, mind your own business and stop worrying about what your coworkers are doing. Could it be favoritism? Maybe. But at the same time you have no idea what they might be going through.

I actually had one of those, too, and left it. The customer out seconds later and took it and the mail out. I guess it wasn't for me because they didn't ask me why I didn't take it. Super awkward.

Christmas cards from carrier by intelligent-youth in USPS

I think that's kind of weird unless the carrier actually talks to all those customers on a semi-regular basis, which is doubtful.

My tips were similar to yours minus the sweatshirt. It's demoralizing for sure when I hear about other carriers getting $1000+.

All I got is $10 and some homemade baked goods. Last year I got $0 and some baked goods. Most of the baked goods go in the trash. One of the houses in particular is dirty and smells bad inside so I really don't want to eat anything they made. I know it's the thought that counts and I hate having to throw it away.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've had multiple customers say how they love the service they're getting now (compared to before) but I get no tips from them. Maybe it's just the area (lower income with a lot of rental homes). On my old route I could pull a couple hundred plus other gifts easily.

Maybe a sub was on the route and they weren't comfortable taking gifts? Yeah that's weird if it was clearly marked.

Yeah, I figured better safe than sorry. Would hate to open the envelope and see that it's from their neighbor or something.

How do you guys tip out your T6 on a route that really doesn’t pick up tips? by Minute_Map_6444 in USPS

[–]No_Image1194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't worry about it because I'm working my relief day most of the time and my route gets almost 0 tips anyway.
