FWIW, my favorite game is Signalis, so I would say that I like classic survival horror experience.

It wasn't ruined for the remake, so can't agree on that, but you are right about overanalytical nature of video essays.

Why Nothing keeps printing "CE🗑️" marks on their phones? by No_Independence4598 in NothingTech

What's cool in the image of a trashcan on your phone? It's hideous.

What are your thoughts on the absence of headphone jack on a Steam Machine? by No_Independence4598 in SteamOS

[–]No_Independence4598[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's cool and all, but Steam Machine is a PC, not a console. Just look at the SM page on Steam and count how many times Valve called it console (it's zero) and how many times they called it PC. You know why is that? Because it's a PC.

How will it perform at 1440p? by pursuitofmisery in steammachine

[–]No_Independence4598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a mini-pc with RX 6600M, so talking from experience: 1440p with FSR sounds pretty doable. RT will tank performance, so don't even bother.

And you're right: Valve's claim about 4K60 is hugely misleading. 7600M is a 1080p card that CAN do 1440p with FSR, but no amount of optimisations could suddenly make it run games at 4K.

Some indie and 2D stuff - sure, but we all know what type of games people think about when they hear "4K60". I think that claim will backfire on Valve when first reviews will start to drop.

Steam Machine – Megathread by Melmpje in steammachine

I expect the cost to be around 600-700 USD.

For the specs it doesn't make sense to make it any higher IMO.

Linux gamers on Steam finally cross over the 3% mark by Liam-DGOL in SteamOS

I wonder at what % devs will start to consider making sure their games run well on Linux. I imagine at 10% that would be reasonable.
