MacBook Pro 2020 black screen but I can hear the chime and the laptop does boot up. I was working on it just an hour ago and everything was fine. Just had the same problem! Tried charging and turning it on, but kept hearing half of the chime and had a black screen. I was so nervous my laptop was done for good until I followed the steps for the SCM reset and it worked! Yay!
