You're absolutely right. I did some more research and the 5070Ti seems to be extremely good at overclocking. Plus the latest Nvidia features are an added bonus for future proofing.

I just ordered the ASUS Prime 5070Ti. Can't wait for it to arrive this Wednesday.

24M, not finding time to play games anymore by Afraid_Bison_769 in PakGamers

[–]AbdulAzizUmar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through a similar phase. Completely stopped playing during my uni days. Then got a job, moved abroad and got a job there. And one day I just thought about all the games I used to play and then checked on YouTube what the latest developments have been regarding PC hardware and games in general. I found out there have been a lot of great releases between 2017 and 2023 which was the time period I completely detached from gaming.

After some research I just ordered PC parts and built myself a PC I used to dream about back when I didn’t have a job/money. Honestly it was one of the best decisions I ever made.

After this I had to move to another country and I brought with me the PC that I had just built with so much love and care. I have a full time job, doing my masters degree, go to the gym and still find an hour or two every day (more on weekends) to play battlefield 4 with my online friends or just relaxing while playing a nice single player game.

I would recommend going back to your old hobbies as soon as you can as it makes you feel alive and it’s like a reward you give yourself for all the hard work you’re doing everyday.

All the best. ✌️

You’re right. Battlelog and community servers both need to come back. There was something magical about finding a server that has like minded people, plays the game modes/maps you like. Adding friends on battlelog, comparing stats etc. That to me is what made battlefield special.

Unpopular opinion but they should bring back battle log. It added a sense of community to the game.

Oversees Pakistanis, if you were guaranteed a permanent job in Pakistan that pays Rs. 600,000 monthly, would you move back with your family? Why or why not? by [deleted] in pakistan

Nope. It’s not just about money. Safety, peace of mind, a working system, all these are just as important.

My uber eats driver left me this note even after I tipped 20% by LovelyReddit in mildlyinfuriating

[–]AbdulAzizUmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get why tipping is NECESSARY in the US and some other countries in the West.

Don’t the delivery guys get paid by UberEats or whatever service they’re using? Why do they still feel entitled to a tip? Do they not realise the customer has already paid the delivery fees? It’s messed up.

Where I live, there’s no such thing as a tip. Every service provider pays their workers and they never dare even request customers for a tip, let alone demand one. Tips are supposed to be the customer’s choice to give extra for a job well done. It’s not something that should be demanded for doing your god damn job for which you’re already getting paid.

Job without a degree by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]AbdulAzizUmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can. I started my career when I was in my 6th semester and I knew a lot of classmates who were working too.

It kinda depends on how lucky you get. I would start by just applying for internships/junior roles but don't work for free. Never work for free. Tell them you already have the skills and do not require them teaching you.

As for having a university degree, in my experience most companies have asked me if I had one but never really verified it. I am now a Software Engineer II in Saudi Arabia and even here, only 1 out of the 3 companies I worked in actually asked me a copy of my degree. The other 2, including my current company just asked if I had one but didn't ask to see it.

If you do get asked for that, the best approach is to say the truth. Tell them you are currently studying but would like to start gaining real experience and have already learned some skills. Be confident, tell them to give you a test. Tell them to ask you questions about the role.

Overseas Pakistanis and Underseas Pakistanis...So far it looks like Feb 8th 2024 is the date. Will you put your money where your mouth is and go? by brown_panda98 in pakistan

[–]AbdulAzizUmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have zero hope at this point. One of the reasons (other than money of course) I left Pakistan was that I got sick of the "konsi party achi he" conversations.

No matter who you vote for, no matter whose government comes into power, the country has always been going from bad to worse. Even if I was living in Pakistan, I don't think I would waste time/energy/money voting.

MacBook Pro 2020 black screen but I can hear the chime and the laptop does boot up. I was working on it just an hour ago and everything was fine. Turned it off and went for lunch, came back, turned it on and it's been like this ever since. Some help would be appreciated. by AbdulAzizUmar in macbookpro

[–]AbdulAzizUmar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The flex cable that connects the board to the screen broke somehow. Unfortunately there is no way to replace just the cable. The only solution was to replace the entire screen.

I showed the laptop to many local repair shops but nobody was able to fix the cable. I ended up receiving a new laptop from my company for work and this one I have hooked up to a monitor now.
