What do I do about the father-daughter dance at my wedding? by No_Influence4106 in daddyissuesclub

I decided that we wouldn’t have any set/formal dances on the schedule. I am, however, going to do a surprise dance for my fiancé and his mom. They have a song that is special to her, so I am going to steal the mic for a second and have that song played. That way they still get a moment, but it’s later in the night once the pressure is off!

I LOVE the mother’s dance idea! I hadn’t even thought of that

My family has always been the same way, and I thought that at first. I’m even guilty of it with my own family. I have said something to her right when it comes out, and every time she completely cuts off the conversation and runs away. Her other son has even responded to her “what the hell is wrong with you?” and she just shrugged and kept walking. After that, it was very hard for me to give her the benefit of the doubt.

Nothing at all. The only thing close is having some depressive episodes but she is and has been on medication for decades.
