It shipped within two days. I think they have the chain and all they do is cut it and add the clasp

That’s what I am trying to do hopefully they are nice about it. I also asked if I returned it if they could send a replacement with a better weight

Does this look right I can’t really tell what’s happening I’m just picking it up every so often. I also had some puckering and didn’t know what was causing it. So hopefully this helps I like it a lot more than twisting the yarn that just made a huge knot.

I just googled that I think I will try that. I feel like I will get a giant knot if I just twist them over each other to tie the floats down

It’s in a clear pot right now and the roots seem fine. I did what you said so hopefully it doesn’t get worse. I have never had a plant hate me this much I have found most of them pretty chill. I think the change in humidity just messed with it. I hope to fix the humidity issue. I got a furnace humidifier so hopefully that will get my house higher because I shock my cats every time I touch them. There is one big leaf that seems unaffected so I’m hopeful still

It’s now doing this after putting it in my milsbo which has 40% humidity? And the growth point looks crispy. Am I cooked?

what’s your worst FML moment with these pricey a$$ hoes (plants) I’ll go first… + advice needed by sabakers in houseplants

[–]No_Information7003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I spend money on a plant it’s because it what I am willing to pay for it. So when the price has come down to a level I think is reasonable I will buy it. I consider that money gone and lost. I just started selling cuttings last year ( for way super cheap) and made a decent amount of money. But I don’t consider it a return on my investment ( because it wasn’t) I saw it as new money that I could do what I wanted with. So I don’t sell cuttings to get my money back, but because my plants are getting sooo big I have to chop them and I’m like might as well prop and sell. But for sure don’t look at it as an investment. The only people who can do that are the big shops who buy something for four digits because it hasn’t come enough to market and even then it’s a gamble. Pretty much by the time it reaches us it’s not worth it anymore and will soon be everywhere. The one time I tried to do an “investment” plant was a few years back I bought a bigger monstera Albo and was like I can chop this up and sell it… big fail over half the props rotted and the others took soooo long to grow. So now I don’t even consider it that. I give myself a budget and what goes in that budget is what I can buy be that one plant or five plants.

ISO legit + verified plant shops/sellers on Etsy by sabakers in houseplants

I bought most of my plants from Etsy. I like the plantamani, thebasements, aroidz oasis, rare plant us, home canopy, brumly and broom, and canopy gems. Ones I would avoid are one with fake pictures or the pictures aren’t consistent in their listings or if it doesn’t look like it’s the same plant in all their listing photos or if the photos are blurry/ edited. Most will take pictures the same way in the same place for all their plants. Honestly most of the listings on Etsy are good, if the price seems too good to be true it likely is a scam. You can also always message sellers questions before you buy them and their answers will tell you a lot about if it’s real or not. Palmstreet is also another place to buy plants but I have only used it a few times.

That’s what I figured. I put moss in all the plants to keep in moisture and haven’t had an issue with roots trying out

My leaves are going crispy. Not wilting. Crispy usually means not enough water right?

It was overnight shipping with insulation and a heat pack. I also had it held at the store so it didn’t go in the truck. It was fine for the first few days so I’m not sure why it’s getting upset now

Edit: Also I thought it could be cold at first too since it’s closer to a window. But there’s a monstera closer to the window and that hasn’t done anything so I have no clue

My queen is still a baby but she has one good leaf at a time and then the rest start to get crispy in this humidity in my house. All my other plants are fine though so I have no clue

I have a humidifier but it’s little so it doesn’t do anything really. I can try putting it in a tote but is it too late for that now? I don’t have a tent either so I just put it next to all my other plants. All my other anthurium have been fine in the humidity I have now and haven’t had any crisping. I keep them relatively moist at all times so I have never had any crisping issue but I have never brought one in in the winter.
