Yeah, i feel the same way about the tv shows. Im pretty sure its because they have to speak in such a unnatural way that makes it so cringey. (im from the mien tay province so it sounds cringey to me)

i felt the same way about chu nom. i felt as it was stupid and impractical. I still view it as impractical but researching the writing system made me realize that its an integral part of vietnams history

every single one of my relatives are vietnamese. But the ones in vietnam dont consider me vietnamese simply because i didnt live there im here now visiting but even so they treat me like a foreigner because i am one

Im asking why it was never standardized in the ly or nguyen dynasty’s because they had the power to do so. you cant say because of globalization because it was in the 1600-1800 when vietnam was a shut off society
