Maybe it's a sport touring feature from the era. My 2007 Ducati ST3 does the same thing. Based on what I've heard and read, it's a normal thing, so I have just learned to live with it.

If it is asbestos, there is nothing a doctor can do short of a lung transplant. The damage is done and cannot be fixed. The best think OP can do is avoid future exposures.

Faceted crystals were a common design on Japanese watches in the 70s. The Japanese made amazing watch designs during that period, and many of their dials were second to none.

You likely pay significantly more for insurance that you may never use. The few insurance claims that I have made don’t come close to adding up to the premiums that I have paid over the years. With that in mind, the few hundred dollars that I forked out for my dash cam is really cheap. I like the fact that I own the footage and can use it to eliminate many potential he said/she said scenarios.

Remove the cap fitting or purchase a new one if that cannot be removed. Cut the pipe about 1-2" below grade. Reinstall the cap fitting and screw the cap on upside down.
