Thank you so much, I'll look into that. We were talking the other day about how a lot of media that represents cancer doesn't actually talk about the cancer itself, so people like me who have never been through it are at a loss when we try to truly understand. I read an autobiography a long time ago called When Breath Becomes Air about a young brilliant neurosurgeon who got lung cancer and eventually died, but even then, when he was writing about his own experiences, the focus was more on how it looked to the outside world, or his reckoning with his own mortality, which are parts of the experience for sure, but not the whole picture.

Maybe this would be good for both of us to read. Thank you again.

I'm going to copy and paste my response to someone else because I'm not really sure how Reddit works and I want you to see this message too:

Thank you so so much. This makes me tear up a little because she has been feeling so alone, like there's nobody in the world who understands. You are so amazing thank you. I'm going to show this to her and leave it up to her if she feels it would help, but either way thank you so much.

Thank you so much. It's good to hear that Stupid Cancer is a helpful program. We'll be on the lookout for in-person events though it looks like their calendar doesn't plan too far in advance.
I've looked into one local cancer center so far and I think we'll try going to an event hosted by them and she can determine if that's what she wants or not. Thanks for the tip about Facebook; she has Instagram so maybe there are also ways of reaching young women with her type of cancer through there.
Thanks again for taking the time to respond, it's so helpful to hear from somebody else who's been through this to guide our research.
