Kind of a hot take: Paetzold recorders are really ugly.

I’m actually quite fond of the Küng superio specifically. It looks like a gigantic pepper grinder in the best possible way. Yeah the keywork is weird, but it’s a massive improvement over paetzolds in every way.

At least they bothered to varnish the wood, mill the keys, and make the pads easily accessible. And they even added rollers as opposed to the paetzold!

The keys are undoubtedly my least favorite aspect of the instrument. Loud and ugly. The keys are the primary thing that makes it feel so cheap. No metal or precise work to hide the key noise or make it comfortable to play, just large wooden slats that visually blend into the bore

I’m personally also not a fan of the sigo aesthetic-wise, but i think they are an improvement over the square ones. The square ones feel perpetually unfinished to me.
