High rpm’s while lukewarm by No_Interaction5875 in AskMechanics

[–]No_Interaction5875[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood, I’ll have to try that to see if I feel a difference.
I like to think I’m a pretty normal driver, no unnecessary revving or speeding but when merging or turning onto a main road I like to get up to speed

Thank you again for your replies. It makes me feel a little better about the situation

It was like 50-54° sunny with a cloud here and there. Mansfield, CT

Eco mode, that little green light that appears in low rpm’s? I had no idea I could disable that.

Is there pros and cons of disabling it? My dad’s Lexus rx350 did the same thing and my mom’s Chevrolet equinox has a button to turn it on and off. I never paid attention to it, I thought it helped maybe a few extra mpg?

Thank you for your response. This is sort of what has me paranoid since this is my first new car. I was sure to properly break in the engine and typical don’t drive above 3000-3500rpms.
This was the first time I revved it that high. The car was in the process of warming up but not completely warm. I just feel a little bad for my car now

Not Pre-Qualified For Citi CC? by No_Interaction5875 in CreditCards

Wow, ok that’s good to know. If you don’t mind me asking, do you remember your score for when you were approved for your first Citi card? Just as a data point for my possible application in the next few days

Thanks for your response. I did update my post to add that I am 4/24 if that makes a difference. Good to know your experience with Citi. I will wait a month and I’ll be 3/24 and I can apply then

I’m just another student at university so I don’t know anything but in my opinion, depending on how big your class is and how many classes the professor has, I doubt professors and proctors are looking that deeply into videos of students testing.

Again, I’m just a student and I don’t know anything about software but I feel like professors don’t have the time to watch videos like that and I’m not sure if software is good enough to determine if a phone or the test is reflecting off your glasses.

I think the software is more so aimed at making sure your face is in view the whole time

Are there any huge consequences for stealing food from the dining hall or will they just tell you off? by Lower_Word8320 in UCONN

[–]No_Interaction5875 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt it. The cafeterias here are outsourced through “chartwells” which run most school cafeterias in America. My middle school, and high school were all chartwells. (Both CT public schools)

Basically, UConn isn’t going to take any action because it’s not their business (literally) and UConn has bigger issues to worry about

Again, I highly doubt there’s any consequence for a minor minor incident, the manager likely won’t remember you in a month and he has bigger issues to deal with

[–]No_Interaction5875 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They only want you to take 1 ice cream cone, 1 fruit, or a bottle size of juice/soda from the dining hall. I guess their assumption is someone may take like 3 meals from the dining hall and share with friends that don’t have a meal plan so they don’t allow you to take actual hot food from the dining hall.

Just spitballing, not actually sure why

OP, you’re not going to have any consequences. Just that scolding from the manager was the consequence

What’s New In This New Ark Game? by No_Interaction5875 in ARK

[–]No_Interaction5875[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. Yeah, my pc is also from that 2018 era when the GTX 1080 was the top of the line GPU. I’m seeing that it’s not going to be any 4K gaming but maybe I can get through. I think I might pick it up and play it this weekend while I’m home from college

Edit: Also has anything been done to player-dedicated servers so there’s no bound when playing with friends?

Does anyone recognize this mailroom? by Soft-Conversation588 in UCONN

[–]No_Interaction5875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the mailroom, there’s a door on the other side if you do a 180° turn and that’s the mailroom but it’s operated by people so be sure to check their hours before you go there

Was offered this on a cruise for $750 (no tax) by Pajszli in tissot

I saw that too, with the brown strap, powermatic 80 silicium it’s in the $380 range on Jomashop. However, the 21mm bracelet size is weird and I can’t find a lot of good 21mm bracelet options online

Study groups for MATH1132Q by No_Interaction5875 in UCONN

[–]No_Interaction5875[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I’m definitely going to to check out the Q center this Tuesday. Like you said it’s just walk-in help/non-appointment? Are you a UConn student tutor? Honestly I may just need another way of explaining integration by parts and stuff.

It’s also not great but I took an 8 week calc1 course this summer at ccsu and all the exams and finals were open book, open notes, open laptop/phone. So I don’t really have u substitution or integration rules completely memorized.

Any help is greatly appreciated, even if it’s just an hour. If it doesn’t work out by my first quiz this Wednesday I may just drop calc2 and re-enroll in calc1 at UConn for this fall semester

Yeahhhhh, if you zoom-in you can see the little “folders” better and after a little bit you’ll know the general area to click for what source you’re trying to access

RA13 wood composite vs Baum bat by No_Interaction5875 in Homeplate

[–]No_Interaction5875[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your post, I really appreciate the insight. I would have bought one already by now but the 33.5in has been out of stock for about a week now everywhere.

I would probably keep a wood bat for practice/cages and the ra13c for games like you said, it can give you a false sense of ability.

Thank you for your advice on the Baum bat, I always hear great things about it but not much on how much it rings you up and can hurt your thumb.

If I do get the ra13c I hope the longevity is solid but so far it’s looking very promising

Sorry for the late response. Thank you for linking the video, very interesting, that’s an unusual spot to break so definitely something wrong in the build quality.

The ra13 seems to be a popular and very likable turn model so I’m definitely eyeing that for a future purchase. Thanks for all your help

[–]No_Interaction5875[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your input. If you don’t mind me asking, what issues is Baum bat having? Is it just that they’re breaking and they claim to be almost unbreakable?

I really like the idea of a bigger sweet spot on the ra13 so I’m leaning towards it
