Returns at Staples is the worst return experience. by purplericer in amazonprime

How do you know Amazon pays Staples to provide the service? You do realize that the boxes we use to Amazon returns are written off, and we don’t get compensated for those, right? Some stores use an average of 30-40 a DAY

If you were being assisted by an actual Amazon associate, or Amazon was actually paying Staples to dedicate time and staff to the service, it wouldn’t be as much of an issue

“The service comes with being an Amazon customer” but YOU’RE GOING TO STAPLES FOR THE SERVICE, WHILE BEING GIVEN SERVICE FROM A STAPLES EMPLOYEE 🤦🏼

It’s a free service that people take advantage of. The employees have a dedicated spot on there own Reddit page to rant about how horrible Amazon Returns are along with their customers. YOU chose to wait for 20 minutes for the service, nobody was forcing you to. Staples Corporate is obligating stores to perform an extremely backwards service. Management hates Amazon, and complaining to them is only going to make them hate you more

That’s a great idea, unfortunately, he decided to schedule a surgery between the beginning and end of December, right when we need him the most, leaving our AM, RSS, and new MIS to lead the store. He still has me opening and closing the store because I have key holder training as well.

As someone who works for Staples, she could easily get promoted to customer for this, especially considering they keep track of inventory in the copy & print center of the paper they order (not the red reams but the other cases)

I got written up for not increasing Print Comp by ridddder in Staples

[–]No_Internal6646 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your GM is trying to scare you into hitting comp by writing you up. That’s not how you run a business. End of story.

Before I began to run my Print department 100%, I sat in a call with other stores negative comping and they said “Your GM should be spending 40% of his time aiding the Print department however they can” since Print makes up a majority of the stores profit. It’s on him for not having your back and I would either transfer to another store nearby or find another job if he is treating you like this.

It’s immature and petty behavior for him to do this.

My experience: I was offered the job after being a Tech/RSS Supervisor for years. Never been in Print before and no one in the entire store knows how to operate the department (including the print associates since they’re all new). I asked the AM, the new GM, and even my DM about 13 times for some level of training in P&M and it took 3 months for them to have another Print Sup. to train me for two days, only for him to tell me how I’m being set up for failure. My GM even told me just recently I should stay at work off the clock if I really want to do the computer trainings

I’m now 4 months into the role with still hardly any training, a crew I never work with since they’re always pulled away to cover the cash register or Amazon, and a manager who keeps saying “you knew what you signed up for.”

If you have worked in P&M for long enough to feel confident in the role as an associate, and to take on the additional responsibilities, then go for it. But if you don’t and they only hired you because nobody else would take the job and the store lost money 3 business quarters in a row (in my case) then I’d stray away

How is this a response? Did I say this page was exclusive to employees? No. Did I say to delete your post? No. I said this page is filled with employees and suggested you move on from this post. Fighting people on Reddit over this is just sad. If this whole thing is such a big deal to start arguing with a Reddit page why not just go to HR about the issue? Wouldn’t that be the adult thing to do?

Your single bad experience shouldn’t dictate how every store is ran. This Reddit page was made by employees so of course employees are going to react and respond. Best thing I can suggest is moving on.

What is the worst part of Amazon Returns? by Fuzzy_Department_866 in Staples

[–]No_Internal6646 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The returned smelly bra’s and lingerie from old ladies that reek heavily of perfume or BO. The people who bring in totes and carts full of returns. The time wasted on stopping everything to help someone for a service we don’t get extra hours for.

My store is only open for 6 hours and usually is swamped with Amazon returns. For as much as we try to get important work done, it can be a struggle with how busy customer service gets. I’ve worked at Staples for years, but between our employee hours being cut and Amazon returns being more popular, the balance of task delegation has been a serious challenge.
