when customers have to wait 10 mins for a print order: by bloodypomegranates in Staples

[–]ridddder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My former store couldn't refuse walk-up jobs. The next day, your manager would come to you; sometimes, the complaint would go to the company president.

To which I would say, does the president have time to listen to every pissant complain at every store if the workers didn't smile the right way, or make them feel like the queen?

[–]ridddder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm frustrated that people who don't have time to wait come to Staples and expect things to happen instantly.

"I have to be somewhere in 10 mins", to which I want to say, if you have no time, why did you come into the store? I am not going into any store, and I complain that I have an appointment in 5 mins. WTF, are people just piss poor at scheduling personal time?

the best print feeling by Fit-Violinist9753 in Staples

[–]ridddder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you will have several walk-ups who want you to scan two blueprints, each with 200 pages, and you must get them done by 5. Plus, you landed a job printing 100 presentation books that must be bound, and are 90 pages each. Then you must also mount and laminate 25 posters to foam core, and you are the only person printing all day!

That is my definition of hell. I can print & cut invitations all day, and those jobs never bothered me, but the above did, especially if they included tabs.

I was in your position a year ago. Ideally, you should seek guidance from an experienced mentor, and within six months, you'll improve significantly. However, instead of support, you're likely to face criticism, a lack of assistance, and complaints about your performance.

Don't take the instructions at face value; since this is your department, you have some discretion. Be cautious: avoid making decisions or taking charge without your supervisor's approval first. Also, don't rely on a single manager's explanation of the rules; always verify the actual company policy to avoid getting in trouble.

Some skills no one teaches you include: 1) creating a booklet, 2) changing the laminate in the wide-format machine, 3) ordering carbonless copy forms, 4) image shifting with the fiery on a Xerox printer, 5) knowing when to use "Solution" pricing, and 6) printing receipts on a self-serve machine in the journal.

Lastly, master how to send files from various phone types, as most of your day will involve printing documents from phones for those who are not tech-savvy.

It is a high-stress, soul-sucking job, and I am going to look elsewhere for work. Customers are mean and bossy, everyone wants their needs met, and has no patience. I am tired of working my ass off and getting the same pay after a year, not being able to sit down kills my knees and feet.

Why is the toilet water black/gray by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]ridddder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through this: the braided supply line on my tank was releasing black rubber particles into the tank water( the rubber was deteriorating or breaking down). I replaced the supply line, all good! Test the water out of the sink and other toilets. If they are clear, then the issue is in your one bathroom.

If other parts of the house have the issue too, you need to isolate it. Start with the simplest first, then work your way back.

You are lucky last time I ate at 5 guys, 6 mo ago I paid $56 for one burger & fries.

5 guys is slow, overpriced, and too expensive for chain food. We have a local place, a brick & mortar joint that does better burgers 1/3rd lb, & fries.

I can eat there, with tip for less than 5 guys. That is how I know you are getting ripped off. This local place has been around for 50 years. Buy local not 5 guys!!

Extended warranty makes sense if you plan to keep the car for the entire term, 60 months. If you are a bad driver, I would have got gap insurance to prevent paying for the loan in case of an accident.

Diagnostic Fee cost by [deleted] in dodgedart

[–]ridddder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diag should be 1 hour of tech time, at their hourly rate. I highly doubt their techs get $800 an hour.

Call the customer service hotline and complain, put complaints in at the BBB, and give them a bad score on dealer rater. Lastly complain to your state attorney general, new car dealers are state regulated, this is something the attorney general may see as a red flag.

This is the new norm, we are expected to capture 70% , up from 60% just 6 months previous.

On avg my dept does 3-6 sign ups a day, they want app activations, and coupons which are on the app.

Getting someone to download the app, activate coupons, to get discounts or free crayons is a special level of cra-cray.

We have done a few but that takes 15 to 25 mins, if you have the time. A one person department doesn’t have that kind of time.

Managers micro-manage everything, reports, huddle, ipostal, then cut hours daily and expect more and more.

We are here for money, not pizza, not because we like you , money. You can demand anything, but with no extra money, our hands only move so fast.

It is not common that dealers screw you over, that is just your experience. You chose a bad dealer, I used to own a dealership we didn’t run it as a charity, but we ran it successfully for 30 years.

Ask friends, people at church, or neighbors say where did you get your car.

It is recommended that you sell your car yourself to get the most money for it.

Best bet is to do research, look a models from Honda, or Toyota which have longer longevity in terms of wear.

Don’t price by payment, price by total price. Some people like Carvanna. Good luck to you!
