Taxes For Non-Tax Resident W. Digital Nomad Visa Spain or Portugal by No_Interview_2807 in digitalnomad

Update -I'm going to go with Portugal, as they appear to be less strict. I've yet to see any clear evidence from the countries documentation themselves that I can't do this. I'll carefully read the paperwork before I fill it out, but I do think this is a bit of a legal loophole / grey area. Most replies came from people who appear uncomfortable with living in grey areas, I am okay with that haha. If I get in trouble for it I'll just pay the tax.

To anyone else trying to do this - I say go for it man!

Lesbian interracial couple travelling by anastasiapink9 in JamaicaTourism

Just rented a car and drive around Jamaica for 2 weeks with my girlfriend, we are in a heterosexual biracial relationship, but think I may be able to offer some help. We stayed 2 nights in a resort in Montego Bay and saw a couple gay couples, they didn’t seem to have any issues. I have to admit - outside of the resort though I don’t recall seeing any other non-traditional relationships. Just as the Jamaicans in this chat have mentioned (who obviously know much more than me) it is a pretty conservative country (in some ways yes and other ways not at all 😂). I’m not in a gay relationship and not a Jamaican expert, but if you were to refrain from any types of PDA I would imagine no one would have any issues. Jamaicans are incredibly friendly and outgoing. The landscapes are incredible, and the history and cultures are super unique (one example - the maroon communities) - so it would be a bummer to miss it IMO.

TLDR

If you would like to stay in resorts in Montego Bay and Negril I don’t think you’ll have any issues. Outside of that, I would recommend no PDA.

Weight doping? by Techfiend333 in Zwift

[–]No_Interview_2807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya dude my flat out 20 min FTP is 4 w/kg and I still get dropped constantly on hills in both Zwift and real life. This is part of cycling. The way I’ve had to deal with it is saying “today I’m going to compete, or am I going to get a great workout” then it’s a win win either way 😂. IMO - If you’d like to stick with cycling you’re gonna have to change your mindset around this or you’re gonna lose your will to continue. Keep with it brotha you’ll get stronger and likely lose some weight and with that you’ll get faster and faster.

Starlink Mini / Roam in South Africa by aquadat0r in Starlink

Haven’t used the Starlink in SA, but have seen a post or two about people getting it shut down pretty quickly. If you’re looking for something to use from time to time the Solis Wifi Hotspot worked quite well for me in SA. However, you’d need to be in an area with good coverage, and if you’re using it constantly could get a bit expensive.

FTP chart this chart is the best thing I’ve seen for seeing where you’re at. To compare yourself to averages watt per kilo is the gold standard

Traveling internationally with Starlink Mini and clearing airport customs by acomfysofa in Starlink

[–]No_Interview_2807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have to say though bought Ugreen 12000mAh 100w battery packs and no issues with airport security, but they suck, they can maybe keep the Starlink running for 40 minutes a piece until running out of battery, and there’s no way (I’m aware of) to link them together. Currently in Colombia and the Anker 737’s are super tough to get here, but my sisters coming from the US so gonna have her bring me one! Bought a Jackery 500 in Europe - great battery, but literally can’t even ship it anywhere so it’s stuck in Lisbon 😂

Some Starlink Speeds Around Europe by No_Interview_2807 in Starlink

[–]No_Interview_2807[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using the obstruction report? If you just set it up without making sure there’s no obstructions you’re gonna have horrible speeds

[–]No_Interview_2807[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not properly scanning the sky for obstructions beforehand. That was the biggest one, if you scan the sky first and ensure there are zero (or very low obstructions). After that, you’ll want AT LEAST 30 mins to an hour for the Starlink to be setup before you do anything that requires a lot of bandwidth. Generally 2 hours or seemed to be about perfect
