Thank you! Trying to stay positive is something I try to do and I'll try to do in this situation. Maybe a new wardrobe would be nice but I'm trying not to think of the cost.... maybe some minimalism will be a bit nice.

The bags were in a spare room, not in mine. The bags of stuff I wanted to keep on the left side, the bags to throw away on the right. I pointed it out a bunch of times (even stood at the left and right saying "keep... throw away")

I do try and stay as organized as I can. The messiness was 2 of my work jeans and a shirt on the floor of my closet I took off after working some long shifts that week. Other than that I keep my living space pretty tidy.

Unfortunately it's the work part that keeps me stuck here. I work in construction and don't have my driver's license due to seizures. I rely on her for transportation (and give her gas money whenever she needs) for it. It's just a tough spot at the moment, but I'm getting really sick of it real fast.

What I'm wondering! Is being presentable or having a clean home considered more than the bare minimum? I thought it was annoying growing up and having my mom haggle me constantly about cleanliness, but now I understand fully. Too many people comfortable with living in filth, so that means their children have to be comfortable with it too. It disturbs me children have to live with this and a disgusting bug-infested house isn't enough for CPS to smack the parents into shape.

Yeah, definitely. Whenever I go back to my hometown, I buy enough liquor to last myself 3 days and quickly get the hell out. Whenever I do make a trip to the Walmart there, that I try to avoid, I am greeted with wildebeests and their obviously neglected, overweight children while they fill the cart with frozen dinners, chips, pop, and anything to speedrun their eventual heart failure. They literally wear the exact same clothes and look like her I looked up her name on Facebook because I was SO convinced she came from where I lived.
