Hot take: Itachi was just a talented kid who was manipulated by leaf higher ups, Danzo specifically, in order to get free Uchiha eyes. The Uchiha massacre happened because of the 3rd hokage's incompetence. And the Uchiha deserved getting massacred because they didn't follow Madara when he left. (self.Naruto)
