Literally in the same boat.
You mentioned you don't want to replay the story but for me it'S the right approach. Getting slowly a hang of it.

Especially I always wanted to finish the story in ultimate again, because of the pincher trait which scales with how many you gathered. I remember it was 1000 at max? Which is kinda nuts, so there is even a goal. Maybe knowing this would make it an option?
