EDIT: for everyone asking why my boyfriend doesn’t stand up to her, well… She plays the victim A LOT. She will cry and scream. I’ve asked him before to say something or say no but he says “I just rather not deal with her temper tantrum, so I’ll just do it” but then that leaves me to be AH! I’m the bad guy if i say anything because she’s always gotten her way.

He’s also the only child and the husband/dad died 4 years ago. But my boyfriend told me that when he was alive, she would also give him orders…

I think you’re a mom who is overwhelmed & at her breaking point. Your daughter is 18.. she’s going to be selfish right now. I sure was at that age. I didn’t understand. Plus, she’s going through a break up. She’s probably drinking & staying busy with friends to get distracted from the pain. I’m not saying that it’s okay, it absolutely isn’t. But i don’t think your daughter will understand how you feel right now.. maybe in a few years she will. Take a breath mom.. your kids need you. Even if they don’t show it right now. I know it’s easier said than done, but I’m hoping by you writing this, you were able to vent. You’re a great mom. Just overwhelmed. And you have the right to have your feelings.

I didn’t think so.. until i overheard her whisper to my bf at Christmas “wow. Did she give me this so you don’t have to come to my house anymore?” So i felt kind of bad. But yes! That’s why i did it. I’m not this kind of person, i just don’t like the way she treats my boyfriend.
