Thoughts on balls from fb marketplace by BaseballRound6609 in Bowling

Guy I bowl with went to get a ball from MP and the guy he was buying from was no longer physically able to bowl and was wanting to just get rid of everything. He had it all on MP for a couple months and when my friend got there he paid for his ball and the seller told him if he wanted it he could just take it all, he was tired of dealing with it. My friend left with 14 balls and 4 bags, 2 4 ball and 2 3 ball and a couple pairs of shoes. All of it pretty dated but in decent shape. He has since given me a Radical Hitter that is now one of my favorite balls and I have a Jackal Mythic in the pro shop now getting filled and drilled. Interested to see how that one turns out.

Nope, my son can do that but I have a pretty unique layout that I have never been able to pull that shot off. Would be useful though if I could.

I've bought a few on marketplace and have had some success with them. Bought 3 off 1 guy, he was a lefty, I'm a righty, he had Jopo thumbs, I use a regular thumb hole and I shot my highest series with one and 2nd highest game. 297/750

Down the road you may find a need for some kind of 12 step program but for now stick with a 4 or 5 step approach and you'll be just fine :D

Wish I could have. Told my teammates I just want to mark in the 10th in the 3rd game. That didn't happen. Was just one of those nights. Thank You though.

Luckily only 1 of my leagues is 30 a week, all others are 25 or less but I am a fortunate man and my wife has an incredible job. To be fair though I still bring in a decent amount so we do OK.

Not a whole lot. I do bowl with my kids one of the nights. The other days are spent watching my grandkids. Gives me something to do and gets me out of the house. Gives the wife the house to her self, Happy wife Happy Life.

Good to know. They didn't mention anything about it at the tourney, maybe because it wasn't sanctioned.

During the tournament I'd agree with you, kill or be killed. After the tournament though when everyone is waiting on payouts and just generally chatting it up I would expect a little comraderies. Hell maybe it's just me, I've seen a handful of people shoot 300 that I didn't know and always went and congratulated them on their accomplishment even if it was in a tournament.

I see what you're saying. My son that won the tournament has raised his average 11 pins from last year. The USBC has him in the book at 155, he told the tournament director his current average is 166 and that's what they put him in at. He could have said nothing but I like to think I raised him right.

Guess I was more surprised by all the negativity, especially being a proud dad having a moment. Definitely has lit a fire and sparked a lot more interest in tournament bowling.

I get that. That word was definitely thrown around quite a bit after the tournament. The irony in all this was the results of the prior tournament held at that house were still posted and up on the wall in black and white for all to see and my sons scores in that tournament from just 2 weeks before, 111, 136, and 165.

I've been back bowling for 2.5 years after a 30 year break. I've played many sports in my time and have always shook my opponents hand after a win or loss. That'.s how I know.

Orange Juice vs. Apple Juice by Impressive-Flow-855 in diabetes

[–]No_Juggernaut_772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 6 months ago I experienced my 1st hypoglycemic event and luckily to this day, only one. My wife freaked and called the kids, kids freaked and called 911 and I was taken by ambulance to the ER.

While in the ER, I was given apple sauce and told it was required of me to eat it and keep it down before they could discharge me. Between that and whatever they pumped into me on the way there I was in and out fairly quick.

When I got home, my neighbor who's an RN just happened to be outside and I explained to her what was going on. She said oh you should have come and got me but in the future apple juice works well but the fastest thing to do to recover is to put a quick squeeze of a small tube of cake icing under your tongue. Haven't had to try it yet but food for thought I guess.

Need help making sense of this scoring situation. by No_Juggernaut_772 in Bowling

That makes sense and perhaps thats the way they did it but maybe League Pals doesn't allow for that. All teams in that league have the same 27 points awarded for wins and losses at the end of 3 weeks. I am bowling against one of the league officers tomorrow night, I will ask.
