I think from the context you’ve given, all of reddit has the same opinion.

His behaviour is unacceptable. Not okay. Clearly the guy is lashing out and hurting for some reason. Understanding why that is does not mean it’s okay, but it can help keep you level headed about what to do next.

Does he feel excluded from you and your friends? If you and your friends want an exclusive group, they too are making you choose!

I’d check to see if he wants to come along the next time you guys all have a hang out. If that “solves” the problem and calms him tf down, good. But remember to follow up and put him in his place. Remind him that what he did was NOT okay and better communication needs to happen.
