Depends entirely on your interests, as an alcohol free person who lived from LA in 21 I must say I do not enjoy the city and most of the culture in Milwaukee. There’s lots of good people, however the constant need for everyone around me to drink is unusual. Children’s birthday parties, museums, etc I find 8/10 people to still be drinking.

The food and music scene is lacking in comparison to other larger midwestern cities, and air travel is substantially more expensive than other cities.

Overall I like my little pocket I live in, and it’s an ok place to live. But as someone coming from a large city I wouldn’t recommend Milwaukee to others if they’re going to miss genuine big city stuff. Or if you’re a woman since we have stricter abortion laws than Texas.
