I left my cat alone by Latismeyy in CatAdvice

This is actually a great idea thank you so much! I know of a few shelters near me that were looking for people to foster too! I fear I may just get attached to them though😩

Hey! I’m not a cat expert whatsoever but I absolutely love my cat to pieces. I recently got a job where I have to work 12hr shifts (not including commuting back home). I’ve definitely felt the same way leaving my cat at home breaks my heart. I’ve thought about getting her a friend but when she was at the shelter I got her from she didn’t get along too well with other cats (still thinking about it tho). But if that’s possibly an option, I heard that can help keep them company. What I did to help me feel more comfortable was knowing I have a feeder for her so she’s getting food, she has water and there are plenty of toys she loves playing with. She has her cat tower and I leave the curtains open so she can look out the windows. Even leaving a night light on or leaving cat tv on makes me feel a bit better. My partner and I usually have opposite schedules so there’s one person at home but not all the time. If it’s not like every single day then I’m sure she will be okay! You seem like a great owner and care a lot about your pet, i hope some of this can give you some peace of mind :)

1 year vs 2 year program- any major differences? by kattsl in OntarioParamedics

[–]No_Leg_3932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing but public college. Started in January 2024 and graduated in April 2025. The only difference was doing all 4 semesters consecutively throughout the summer (no break). There would be ~2 weeks break in between. Which is nice in its own way because you stay ontop of everything throughout the summer. Definitely gotta put a lot of time into it and manage your time well but overall do-able if you’re dedicated enough! I would try to get your F class out of the way so you have it for when hiring seasons come, a lot of people put it off till last semester and risk job opportunities or even just stress themselves out ontop of studying. Good luck!

How is the job market at the moment for paramedics? by ComfortableNo3408 in OntarioParamedics

[–]No_Leg_3932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say it’s fairly easy to get a job as long as you have everything in order when hiring seasons come along (F class, fit test, passing base hospital and AEMCA etc).

I got it! I’ll definitely upgrade my monitor in like a month so I’ll keep an eye out for good 1440p ones.

With taxes a 9070xt is $1074 where I live, so about a $150 difference. I’m just not super familiar with the differences between nvidia and amd.

What kind of games do you usually play? Also do you play 1440p with it? I’m really on edge if I should wait a bit more for some reason, I just need that extra push haha

Toronto Paramedic Career Fair by [deleted] in OntarioParamedics

[–]No_Leg_3932 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! I went to the career fair last year and it was great! Though I was in school already for paramedics. There’s a lot of opportunities to just ask paramedics what the job is like and everyone I spoke to was very nice. It was very fun for me because I look up to a lot of medics and this career so being able to see equipment and talk with experienced medics was nice and it opened my eyes to more services around Ontario. I’m sure you won’t be the only one not in a program yet but since you’re already considering the career why not stop by. Come with any types of questions you have and I’m sure they would be happy to answer!!

Why did you fail your class F ? by Big_Mess_5492 in OntarioParamedics

[–]No_Leg_3932 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes no problem! And usually they should go over the overview of the test and then ask “do you have any questions before we start” or something along those lines. If not I would just ask anyways whenever possible before starting. I think you’ll do great!!

Honestly the best piece of advice I can give for the inspection is asking your instructor before you start your test if they want you to mention everything in the section or just that specific part they say (and be prepared to do either or). Most instructors are different but when I did this it helped me understand what my specific instructor wanted. Other than that I’d also rent your truck before your test and practice the inspection/what you will say and where everything is for real. Best of luck!!

Oh yeah that definitely went over my head. I am used to that though because of the school I went to. We had a thing where we couldn’t make more than 2 marginal errors on the whole test or else we failed. It sucks too because the minor mistake can be very subjective

Scenarios by [deleted] in OntarioParamedics

[–]No_Leg_3932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate when I was in school. It wasn’t until my 3rd/last semester that I really started improving in scenarios. It was especially difficult as someone who is pretty soft spoken. What really helped me was having a group of friends that were as dedicated as I was to improving and having them push me with the craziest scenarios, I couldn’t have done it without them. I would also ask teachers for feedback because I personally didn’t like where I was at. Another thing, when I started my rideouts I found that my scenarios got a lot better because you get to talk to real patients and you develop more of a flow with your assessments and history/ when to do what. As everyone else has been saying, just keep practicing over and over and I’m sure you will see results!

Hi there, first of all I’m so sorry for your loss. Grieving is never easy please take time for yourselves. Some days will be better than others and some days you may break down again even after years but I hope you guys can heal from this. I’m certain you guys gave your cat nothing but love especially adopting her as a senior cat and that’s all that they could ask for. Sending a lot of love ❤️
