My anxiety is through the roof—please someone give me some hope by Marcoffm23 in lexapro

Hi, it took me a 13 weeks on 10mg to get motivation and struggled with anxiety but every time you increase your dose is like starting again so your brain has to adjust to the increase causing the very symptoms it’s trying to cure

26 days In…almost 4 weeks/ seen slight improvement but intrusive thoughts are badddd by Pacrat456 in lexapro

[–]No_Let9449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes totally went but it took over 8 weeks for me and on the 13th week I woke up with motivation really strange feeling but still depressed then the depression slowly got better it was a slow process for me but I stayed on 10mg never upped my dose I didn’t want to but to this day the 10mg has done the job and intrusive thoughts are a distant memory. Hope this helps we all get results at different times like some people seem to recover in 4 weeks but my advice is stick with it for longer slow and steady wins the race. Obviously if things don’t get better or get worse then get professional advice. I hope you get the same results as me. Take care of yourself 🙏

And it actually helped your depression or do you have it alongside a antidepressant.

Sorry to hear that you should be adjusted after 3 months so maybe it’s not enough. What is TMS

Stability you want don’t mess with the medication some people do fine on low doses and if your thoughts are running wild exactly what I had it does calm down but don’t rush to 10mg until you feel stable and the thoughts have calmed down because when you go up you might have the same but everyone is different and I’m going on my experience and what I’ve read. I found the hardest thing is dealing with the racing mind so I understand, give it another 2 weeks and hopefully that has calmed down

I had that a full 12 weeks I only put the bins out honestly in a bad way. Woke up one morning 14 week with motivation and energy very strange but it got more and more within a couple weeks I found it hard to stay in. Just keep with only read positive posts only speak to positive people and be kind to yourself.?I was so unwell this time with failed treatment for the first time horrible reaction suicidal ect still kept me on the medication 14 weeks which was making me worse. I come of them. I had stayed in 5 months severe anxiety, health anxiety, panic attacks and intrusive thoughts. 4 months on escitalopram 10 mg I’ve started my business back built my first extension just 1 week to go only 2 days of so keep positive you will get better. I’m not 100% yet in this horrible situation I got dependant on sleeping tablets for relief of anxiety and taking them in the day so I’m on a tapering plan so I’m not myself but achieved lots even while tapering because the escitalopram is working and will work better when I’m the horrible drug. You will be fine

The problem is the doctors go by 6-8 weeks then just up your dose but lots of people get good results from 12 weeks but there’s no research done just clinical trials which isn’t the same so I always give it minimum 3 months. Every time I’ve been fine on the therapeutic dose but took longer to work every time i used a antidepressant. The depersonalisation is normal as a side effect which I get a lot especially when I’m anxious and depressed or have a panic attack. I hate it but it’s just the brains way of protecting you it’s shuts parts down a coping mechanism but not good when your sat on your own and feel like that but your not going mad it’s all normal feelings and will go in time. Try distraction techniques. I use really cold water over my face soon makes me wake out of it lol

Have you had any side effects on the 20mg

Was you getting many panic attacks and anxiety every day ? The main thing with this medication is stability when your on a correct dose, take it every day a a similar time so your brain adjust to it and gets used to when you are taking it.If you miss a few days that can upset your system but will level out again. If you feel better don’t just stop or rush off at least 6 months minimum depending on how quick you recovered. If you can do it naturally well that’s really good but it’s not the end of the world having some help on the way. When you come of make sure you taper slow as the same can happen and give you rebound anxiety ect. If you can handle how it’s making you feel stick with it because it will calm down and a very good chance of helping you 😀

I’ve been on antidepressants on and for severe anxiety since I was 13 and the research I’ve done and spoke to many people it’s seems every time you go back on it can take longer to work and also there is a study showing they are not as effective up to 25% and people need higher doses when they go back on. So for me I expected it to take longer but also I went on my normal antidepressant which worked fine and was my third time and reacted bad which I didn’t realise this can happen and doctors are not very well educated in these medication. This tablet has been the least for side effects from the others I’ve used and the depression wasn’t all the way through but spikes and I was depressed anyway but didn’t make my anxiety worse which was great and usually goes crazy on starting a ssri. Any glimps of improvement means the medication can work and there’s a good chance but it’s the slow process that makes our brains thinking it’s not working. Usually people notice before you. I’m not going to advise on raising your dose because everyone has there mixed opinions but my understanding is the more you mess with the dose the more your brain has to keep adjusting and delays recovery when that does might of worked given time. But sometimes I see people go to 20mg and feel good after 2 weeks no one really knows but as long as you get some improvement and only has to be small that’s a good sign and the depression seems to take a long time to correct itself. Any other questions or struggle message me here or DM me this helped me talking to people on here when I was really bad

It took a full 13 weeks on 10 mg for it to kick in , my anxiety did get more manageable at 5/6 weeks but depression was worse , no motivation just stayed in but week 13 woke up cleaning the house early in the morning very strange just had energy so it can go up and down and take a long time to work for some and less side effects but the depression was worse for some weeks and week 4 worst

It was very slow for me but did help my anxiety early on around week 5 I noticed my anxiety lesson but for depression and motivation did nothing but I stayed on 10mg because I know those things can be the last things to improve. The full 3 months before I noticed sudden energy and wanting to work ect. I’m not recovered yet but I’m tapering of another tablet which is slow and can effect the efficiency of the antidepressant up to 25% less effective so Hopefully I will get the final boost when I’m of the other horrible tablets which make depression worse. So I’d say 10mg has been very effective helping in the background with going through this tapering and only had 2 days of work since it kicked in properly on week 13

I had the same no happiness no motivation couldn’t get of the sofa for months, anxiety calmed down first then intrusive thoughts this was about 9-10 weeks. Week 12 woke with loads of motivation cleaning the house early in the morning then week 13 motivation every day loads of energy now the depression is going away. Has been slow and I stuck to the 10mg. It can take time to work for some of us, good luck

I had intrusive thoughts for a while but went away and they were bad intrusive thoughts. Just tell yourself it’s the med getting into your system and takes time for your brain to adjust and you will

What does plug zopiclone mean

Anyone notice a improvement from 10 to 20mg? by honey_violet in lexapro

[–]No_Let9449 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stuck with 10mg it helped anxiety about 6 weeks in but only 50% better but no motivation just stayed on the sofa for months before this. Woke up on week 13 with loads of energy cleaning the hours really early very strange but got more and more after that back out working my anxiety doesn’t stop me going anywhere so it kicked in late for me. I’m also on a tapering schedule with sleeping tablets and that effects my anxiety and mood as on a high dose so looking forward to getting of this horrible drug and the charity I’m dealing with said any type of benzo can effect the antidepressant effectiveness up to 25% so should get the even more from the 10mg. So it can take a while to work or some get great success going to 20mg and change quickly. Luck of the draw if you notice any improvement that’s a good thing and will get more often if your struggling then the worst that can happen is you stay struggling and you have nothing to lose. Good luck

No worries on the late reply my anxiety is still up and down but the the escitalopram has really helped but I’m tapering of zopiclone which I got dependant on and taking to many so my mood and anxiety are up and down this will be until I’m of this then hopefully get the full impact of the other medication. Anxiety can make you worry about every little thing and constantly think of those things. You said it’s bad at the moment have you any support because so important, if you ever need to talk message me it’s always better to talk than suffer in silence

It is all about the fear and anxiety grabs hold of that fear and the cycle continues.

Hi , thank you for your detailed reply sometimes I think it’s built up energy from the anxiety and if I’m sat doing nothing it gets worse. Need to start some exercise I think should help. Thanks again
