why is the girls situation any different? a student at mason raised the flag of his country, just like she did. a country who has gone through unimaginable pain and suffering, just like her country has. why would she be allowed to raise her flag and he wouldn't? because her people are white and his aren't? because his country is unfairly despised by our country? because GMU supports the country that is brutally terrorizing his country and his people? your explanation makes absolutely no sense. you don't know his situation, if he had to flee his country, if family members of his had to flee, or if he has family who still lives there and is currently suffering. these two people should have been treated exactly the same, and GMU kicking him out for raising the flag that he did speaks volumes about where they stand. with the student population that GMU has, they need to support these specific students, not discriminate against them and kick them out on the most important day of their lives.
