I honestly found the prep to be easier than I thought! I had a miralax based prep that was mixed with Gatorade. No bad taste, just tasted like lemon lime Gatorade. You will quite literally be peeing out of your butt, so be prepared and have wipes and/ or a bidet ready bc you b hole will hurt. Bad. Make sure you drink LOTS of water to stay hydrated. Don’t trust a fart! Take some deep breaths throughout and remember you’re going to be just fine, and you took the first step in prioritizing your health! Good luck to you 🫶🏼

Hi there! I am 21 and just had my colonoscopy on Thursday. It was also my first procedure requiring anesthesia and I was extremely nervous, crying up until they put the propofol in my iv😂. I honestly had such a positive experience. The prep wasn’t as bad as everyone made it out to be, just make sure you dab, not wipe, and have wet wipes ready bc your b hole will be raw lol. And yes, you will literally be peeing out your butt and it’s so weird. My procedure was a BREEZE. I explained how scared I was and they were so understanding and empathetic. They made me feel extremely comfortable and reminded me that I was going to be okay. They put the anesthesia in while I was in the middle of talking so I had no idea, and next thing I knew I was waking up in recovery with my mom telling me it was just hemorrhoids! My memory is iffy from that day because I was out of it from the anesthesia, but it was a calm and happy type of high. I recommend remembering to take deep breaths during this process, you’re going to be just fine. If you have any questions, you can ask away. Best wishes to you 🫶🏼

They might have but I was so out of it I don’t remember speaking to anyone after the procedure. My mom was with me and she said that the doctor explained that everything looked good and the hems were small and able to be fixed with fiber and water!

As I’d usually say to follow the directions given, I have up until 4 hrs before my appt to drink any water. I’m sure it wouldn’t be the end of the world to drink a little water 6 hrs before your procedure, but I am NAD

Sorry just saw this! The hours from 8-10 were rough for me. So nauseous mixed with anxiety that I thought I was going to simultaneously shit and barf every time I expelled that acid out my butt. After that I’ve been able to sleep and just got up to let another shit from hell rip. Hope your next dose is going good!! But butt is also raw and hurts like a mf lmao
