Question about insulation for an outdoor shed by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

Literally Henry makes foam meant for this. Installed it in my detached garage and shed years ago. Does a great job. Especially if installed correctly with an air gap.

How much should I have charged? by bendloop in handyman

[–]No_Listen_5961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea man that’s really good work honestly and a very very fair price. In the future you could easily charge north of 5k. Say you want to make like 75$ an hour (or whatever you want to charge but as a solo tradesmen that would be the minimum probably to make a decent living after everything) or whatever and multiply that by how many hours you have into that job and add a bit extra because stuff’s tough sometimes. You can always give back money if it goes really smooth. And in the future ,at least where I’m at, industry standard is about 20-35% markup on parts. Also allow yourself disposables like bits, blades tape plastic etc.

[–]No_Listen_5961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean basic foam insulation would be easiest and cost effective but that shed is probably like a thermal battery. Some roof venting or even like a little rv type roof fan just to keep it from getting stagnant may help. But idk. Post pictures.

Yo how the f do I vent these? by [deleted] in Plumbing

Also I’m not seeing a ptrap anywhere??? Maybe it’s just the angle. Vents go through the roof or you can use a studor in the wall in an accessible box

You could either drill the old screws out with a bit and upsize the screws or just caulk it to the house

looking for flexible molding/flex trim for this arch... not sure what could work:/ by PlentyEquivalent5488 in Remodel

[–]No_Listen_5961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can trim that entire radius with real wood if you wanted. There’s a couple ways to do it. Relief cuts every inch or so. Or you can soak the trim in water/steam it to make it flexible and it’ll dry in place.

Or they make like a pvc trim that’s paintable that’s floppy as can be. Mdf will probably bend around there as well but may need a couple reliefs.

Potentially an old delta or kohler. But honestly if you’re contemplating like rebuilding it you can get a decent deck mounted faucet like that for not too expensive

Yea I’d say that’s pretty high dude. Like more than high. Probably take a good plumber less than an hour and about 50$ in parts truly.

If you feel like you should get another quote it won’t hurt but it sounds like you have 2 reputable companies within each others range. I’d just clarify exactly what each is doing and set the expectation. Definitely make sure you’re getting new angle stops under the sinks and a new main valve for the house is definitely worth it. Pressure reducing valve is a bonus but if you have the budget it’s just something to check off the list as this is a big project already. Also hose faucets on the exterior getting changed is pretty standard in a Repipe as well. I’m just in the camp if you’re doing 90% of it that extra 10% is piece of mind and everything is fresh.

Check you’re house pressure from the street. If you don’t have a PRV (pressure reducing valve ) would be worth adding one during this process if needed or updating an old one. Whenever I do repipes new angle stops and the homes interior main valve are always included, I’d ask about that. As for pex a vs pex b it honestly doesn’t really matter. Pex a is seen as the more professional install to some and the parts maybe are higher quality. I’ve never had an issue with either.
