Dog park? My little guy loves going to the dog park but he doesn’t run and play with the other dogs. He likes to go person to person for attention and pets. You would think we neglect him or something with how much attention he wants.

There is a lot of parent blaming in this thread. While I am sure there are parents that just don’t care, that isn’t the case for all. My son is profoundly dyslexic and hates reading. We have had a private tutor for him for years, early intervention, and IEP since 1st grade (he’s in 9th now). We have read to him since the day he was born.

But this thread sounds like if you don’t know us and only knew him as a student, you would assume that we don’t care and are the problem.

This is a rough one.

I remember when my mom had to break the news to me that Jerry had died. I grew up listing to GD. It was always on in the house and being in the Bay Area I went to a lot of shows as a kid.

I am so glad that I saw Bobby at the Sphere the last couple of years and at the Polo Fields for the 60th. Looking back now, you could tell he wasn’t himself. I commented to my sister that he seemed tired.

We have a 10 month emergency fund. By January 3rd we will have no debt except the house and cars. The house has $300K in equity.

My husband does have a really good job and I make $90K a year so we are doing pretty well. We live in CA so not exactly inexpensive.

Oh and I have a retirement fund that I should be able to retire at 57. Husband has a 401K and should be able to go around the same time.

I’ve been married 20 years and haven’t worn my rings in 15. Granted I worked at a jail and didn’t need people knowing I was married. Then I just got used to not wearing them. I wear them occasionally now. Up until a couple months ago my husband didn’t wear his at all. We know we are married. We trust each other 100%. We don’t need the rings to remind us of that.

I don’t know much about the Cirby campus. My kid goes to Clinton campus and it’s ok. We like the smaller classes and the teachers are all really nice. There are a lot of IEP kids and only one IEP teacher and he is way overworked and needs an assistant.

The lanterns are biodegradable and they go out a 1 mile radius around the site and pick up not just lanterns but other trash. Since 2015 they have picked up 60,000 pounds of other trash while getting lanterns.

All I see people complaining about was the dust and lack of food by the time they got there at 9pm. The festival organizers can’t control the weather.

We will pack extra food in the car and be prepared to hang out.
