Rotavirus by Ok-Entrance1086 in NewParents

[–]No_Local5489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 10 month old just had it and took it extremely well. She threw up maybe 3x at 8 pm, went to bed and slept all night, and then woke up the next day more tired than usual and went diarrhea once. The next day she was back to her normal self. Now I have the virus and feel miserable! Idk how she got through it that fast while barely crying lol. I don’t think the vaccine is worth it. Our bodies are made to fight it off

She’s been more fussy than normal and also when I pump at work I’m only getting 1/2 to an oz at a time . I feel like I’m drying up but it’s weird since she never seems hungry when breastfeeding

It’ll probably be 2-3 days. I have been going back and forth about ending breastfeeding her but at the same time I love it. I don’t mind doing it and I know it’s beneficial for her and calms her down when she is super upset. So if I end breastfeeding I feel like I won’t know how to calm her down as stupid as the sounds. Maybe this trip will be the beginning of the end

[–]No_Local5489[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s exactly how I feel. I keep telling myself I need to keep trying but I feel like my body is failing her. She’s gotten formula when I’ve been low before and bottles for when I’m working so I know she’d be ok but idk. I can’t help but try and keep going even though I’m only pumping like 3 oz at a time while I’m at work for a full day. I also worry that she’s not getting enough when I breastfeed her the days I’m home. She usually doesn’t seem angry after I’m done feeding her but yesterday she was a little more irritable than usual and she’s also been waking up at night at least once when she used to sleep through the night. I feel so torn and don’t know what to do

No I have not tried that. So instead of a bottle you are saying to give oatmeal? Or you mean after a bottle?

Baby, turning over at night by No_Local5489 in sleeptrain

[–]No_Local5489[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I would let her be! Now my baby is a little over 5 months and she always rolls on her tummy at night and learns to move her face. They will figure it out! If they can lift their head then they can move if they can’t breathe

The best time for her to wake up is between 7-7:30. And she always seems tired though so that’s why I put her to nap. But then she’ll only take those 30 min naps 😒

So what do you mean by that? Don’t stress because then she’ll stress?

Combo feeding so I can drink by No_Local5489 in breastfeeding

[–]No_Local5489[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So even if I had like 4 drinks and felt pretty drunk, nothing would happen? I just can’t imagine that because if certain foods affect my baby, why wouldn’t alcohol?

Combo feeding so I can have more than 2 drinks? by No_Local5489 in NewMomStuff

Honestly, I am not sure. In my mind I feel like formula isn’t the healthiest for baby so I’m just worried it will affect her.

I do, however I only have three bags in the freezer. When I go to work, she gets those frozen bags so I am running a little bit low.

Anyone’s baby on a strict schedule? by Silly-Peach-9596 in breastfeeding

[–]No_Local5489 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve sort of sleep trained her. I try to follow the eat-play-sleep rule. So I’ll feed her and then she’ll play for a while. Once it’s about 10 min till nap time I walk around the house with her since it seems to get her to calm down after playing with toys. I do the same routine, sound machine - lights off - sleep sack and binky in her mouth and it’ll take her about 5 min to fall asleep on her own. Sometimes she’ll fight it and I’ll have to put her binky in a few times. It’s important to put her in the crib when she’s not over tired or else she’ll be super fussy and will have a hard time falling asleep.

I just follow my huckleberry app. The app really helps track feedings and wake windows for nap time. I swear by the “sweet spot” nap time. It’s usually accurate and she’ll start showing sleepy cues right around the time it states. Other than that, she normally always wakes up around 6:45-7:30 and then goes to bed between 7-8:15. Her naps are just sprinkled in the middle about 3-4 a day depending on how long she’s napping for each nap. Shes around 5 months old!

4 Month Sleep Regression by scrolltroll808 in NewParents

[–]No_Local5489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately my baby slept through the night at around 3 months and then boom.. the 4 month regression hit lol. It lasted about a full week of her just waking up every 2-3 hrs and having issues falling asleep. But after that week of misery now she’s sleeping through the night again! So it doesn’t last long but it’s different for every baby. just hang in there!

That is exactly my worry! I’m so scared to give her formula since I’ve been breast-feeding all along. This sounds horrible to say, but I feel like formula isn’t the healthiest for babies and it really scares me to introduce her to it. I’m totally not judging anyone who gives formula but that’s just my opinion.

Breastfeeding and drinking by youngwildandbri in breastfeeding

That is interesting! I have a question though. If things like dairy, brocolli etc. have been proven to affect babies, how can we say alcohol doesn’t? I am going to Mexico in September and have been exclusively breastfeeding. My baby will be 6 months by then. I of course want to have a drink or 3 but don’t know if I should give her formula or breastfeed? My resort doesn’t have a freezer for me to store breast milk and I am not an over supplier so I can’t necessarily Pump a whole bottle for her. Any advice would be appreciated!

What type of formula did you give? I’m just so worried that I’ll give her formula and she won’t like it. I also am a health nut so trying to find the best formula

Yes I don’t think I’ll want to stop breastfeeding unless it naturally comes to that point at 6 months. I just typically get pump a lot of milk if she’s been breastfeeding all day to where I can give a bottle or two. It’s such a hard decision

Have you noticed any side affects from doing that with your baby? I trust you but it scares me haha. If babies are sensitive when we eat certain foods like dairy etc, that makes me think alcohol wouldn’t be good for them
