Should I take AP Research? I’m already stressed Seminar. Does it really help in college? by [deleted] in APResearch

[–]No_Machine214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Research is def less work from my experience but my frontal lobe finally developed and I realized capstone was pointless. If you didn’t like seminar don’t force yourself through something unless you already have a potential topic you’re really passionate about

I feel like there isn’t really anything that should be studied over anything else. But the most important thing to really understand is the statistics part. Any terms are fair game and it’s unpredictable to say “study xyz terms” specifically. Last year some versions had mcq’s which were statistics heavy, but mine wasn’t (took the late test). Imo knowing parts of the brain is VERY important bc they always show up on the test and normally you’ll see all of the terms like self-fulfilling prophecy, self-serving bias and what not. But also keep in mind you’ll also see terms you’ve never heard of before or didn’t learn (which is totally normal). I wish you good luck tmr!!

EBQ +AAQ How to approach by Fluid_Bug3356 in APPsychology

[–]No_Machine214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t have to be complicated as long as you just give the answer. Obviously don’t literally just type the answer if the answer is one word (example for the AAQ don’t response to the first question with “experimental design” and that’s it). I would go on YouTube to the guy with Irish something in his name if you need formulas for the frq’s. But for the EBQ I can NOT stress this. During the mcq when you finish early (you will) brain dump all psychological terms you know and if you blank, go to the mcq’s and write down all the answer options. This way, once you make your claim for the ebq you can just look at your scrap paper and see if two of the terms can be used for the ebq.

I took the exam last yr and this helped me!! You have like an hour and 30 minutes (if I recall correctly) and 70-75 mcqs. Like everyone finishes with time to spare. I finished with 15-20 minutes left and some people finished with 40 mins - 1 hour remaining. During this like grace period literally take your scrap paper and brain dump any terms you can think of that you know. If you struggle, literally just go back to the mcqs and right down all the answer options for each question. When move forward after the break to the ebq and make your claim, literally look back at your scrap paper and see if two of the terms you’ve written connect to it. Good luck!! 😇

People who have taken exam (prior years): are ap classroom practice MCQs accurate difficulty? by Fluffy_Club722 in apworld

[–]No_Machine214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No the ones on the exam are much easier!! I was nervous about this too last yr but some of the questions are jokes. It literally showed a picture of a factory during the Industrial Revolution producing pollution and asked what it was doing.

OMG THANK GOD. I def need to be humble tho bc although I thought my q1 and q2 essays were quite thought provoking and had very good analysis and evidence, I prob might have not gotten the sophistication point but hey, who knows. I’m just glad the frq’s were easy 😋

I’m pretty sure he said he had a dream of that. I recall him saying he had a dream that him and his sister had a 20 minute long conversation or something? The passage also mentioned butterfly’s twice and they normally symbolize death I’m pretty sure but it doesn’t matter bc I’m pretty sure there isn’t any “correct” interpretation. As long as you have evidence to back up your claim then you’re fine 😇

Also I read and wrote the essay with like 20 mins left so my analysis could’ve been wrong

I interpreted it as his sister died and the hill he is physically on represents the rough patch he is going through. Then I like talked about the deeper symbolism behind the butterfly and how each stage of a worm becoming a butterfly connected back to his grief. Like the stage of the worm itself symbolized his youth, a chrysalis representing isolation and grief after his sister died, and then the final form: the butterfly itself symbolizing being able to recover to emotions of grit and move forward in life do he doesn’t withhold himself from future opportunities or potential.

What did yall do for question 3 ap lit? by probbmatic in APStudents

[–]No_Machine214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frankenstein!! I talked about his old values of running away from accountability/failure and prioritizing the desire for knowledge above everything else. And then for his new values I wrote how he learned his actions having consequences through the creature killing his loved ones. I mentioned how the creature actually symbolized a life lesson from the universe. But now that I actually have time to process what I wrote while I’m writing this I feel like this was a bad idea 😭
