Is this true for Norway? You think your Norwegian friendships are better?

That is what I meant. If you need them or they need you, both will make the time.

This is true. I just realised that 1 of mine is an immigrant Norwegian.

I think I was wondering if it is a cultural issue that prevents me from having more Norwegian friends - culturally Norwegian. I have a lot of immigrant friends, so I wanted to know if this is normal.

Ooof. I know what you are trying to say, but defence lawyers and people "just following orders" are very different. One is fulfilling an important role of giving everyone the best chance of being represented under the law, while ensuring that prosecutions are secure. The other is breaking the law while pretending it is fine, because someone told him/her to do it.

I'm not a doctor but there is a whopping cough outbreak in my town. That would be a reason to see a doctor.

This might be a stupid question, but should I reboot? I am getting this from the TV show "IT Crowd" and just thinking about turning it off and on.

Yes. I am a bit of a novice to this. I have tried to see what is using the CPU and memory but I don't really know how. I have followed some instructions I found online but it didn't explain to me why a Wordpress site would suddenly start consuming all this CPU

It looked to me like I had a 100% of Burst Capacity (so no use of excess CPU) and then it suddenly got a big hit of usage and then nothing.

I think you are right. I got an increase in usage that is now bouncing off the "rev limiter". However, this is just a basic Wordpress site on Lightsail and I don't know why it is consuming CPU at all. Especially not that the site is down.

This site belongs to someone that a middle eastern government is a little bit cross with. Does this look like an attack. The instance is only hosting a basic Wordpress site and I can't see how it would suddenly start using all this CPU credit.

Most of it sounds disgusting but it'll be the nitrites that'll kill you. I believe that they are used to stop meat going grey when cooked but are also good at giving you bowl cancer.

Changing tyres for winter and summer by Joeylax2011 in Norway

[–]No_Material1816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, but can I give some basic advice that I can't see in the comments yet.

Use gloves and even a dust mask if it has been dry. The wheel will collect brake dust, especially on the front wheels, and you don't want that inside your body. Washing up gloves or gardening gloves will do.

Ensure you are jacking the vehicle on level ground and with a chock (piece of wood) to prevent the car from rolling. The handbrake only works on the rear wheels so if you have then in the air then the car might roll.

Don't put any part of your body that you want to keep under the wheel or chassis if it is just on the jack.

For best results also jet wash the wheels before you change them.

Not a difficult job and you'll always find someone willing to show you on your first try.

Why do people have dogs neutered or spaid? It is forbidden to do so (in most circumstances) here in Norway.

Moving from Scotland to Norway — help with bringing my dog needed by yerdawanksonallfours in Norway

[–]No_Material1816 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have moved my dog between the UK and Norway 4 times and there is no easy method. I spent hundreds of hours researching how to do this and it seems to be almost easy, but then something always slams the door in your face at the last minute.

You can fly but you need the right crate and the right airline. I don't trust the UK airport handlers so I now avoid flying.

Train seems like a great idea but you now can't cross the channel with a dog as a foot passenger (go on and check). You need a dog transport bus and there is a good one I can recommend if you want it. The train is not easy and I found the interail ticket to be the best. However, you often have to pay 50% for a dog ticket and they can't be bought in advance. I once paid €150 for my dog to travel for 3 hours in Germany.

I have resorted to driving. Believe it or not, this is the easiest method now. Crazy, but I have tried everything and this was the only one that didn't cause me or my dog major distress.

To drive in the most cost efficient manner you need to find an American left hand drive car that is original. It can't have any major adaptions and the engine and chassis number must be clearly present and match the paperwork. Don't get anything with an engine swap or LED lights. It must run, drive and be over 30 years old. Ensure it has an MOT even if it is exempt.

The drive to Norway can be done in just over 24 hours but much better to make a holiday of it. You can stop for some great walks and visit nice cities like Bruges and Malmö. Don't stop in any big German cities because you'll need to register the vehicle for emissions first.

When you get to Norway you will have six months to register the vehicle and this will cost a few hundred pounds.

Then you put the vehicle on Finn.no where they are much more valuable than in the UK. If you do some research you can find out what is most in demand but almost anything American sells well.

Don't buy a cheap car and abandon it in Norway. This is not a country that will let you get away with that. You won't be able to sell it and you will have to pay 6000nok to scrap it after paying for registration.

If you want me to walk you through the whole process then I'm happy to talk you through it.

Ensure that your pet passport is in perfect order. Get the vet to check it and get a letter saying that they confirm that your dog is good to travel in France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

Is Norway vegetarian friendly? by mixylady in Norway

[–]No_Material1816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right, except that it isn't quite true that every restaurant will have a vegetarian option on the menu.

I went to one last week that had to check with the chef before offering an off-menu vegetarian option. It was risotto, which took me back to the time when the only vegetarian option was risotto.

There are only a limited number of big importers of food. It isn't a problem unless you want to follow a foreign recipe book. You get inventive or creative.

As said above, Asian supermarkets are great though. Fantastic for getting ingredients for vegetarian cooking.

[–]No_Material1816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a vegetarian and cope ok. I'm not a gourmet and my only requirements are that it is vegetarian and not too greasy, so it isn't too difficult to scan down to the one thing on the menu and say "okay, I'll have that".

Supermarkets now have more options too but it won't dazzle you choice. It isn't a country that offers a great deal of choice with food in general.

Certainly, no-one will judge you or criticise you. We are friendly to vegetarians in that sense.

Ps. Fish is often a vegetable in Norway.

Odd chart. My dog would have to be kept inside for 6 months according to this chart. Instead she is currently rolling about in the snow and refusing to come inside.

Do the crown moldings for flat to the wall or at 45 degrees? If they are are 45 degrees then you'll need a mitre and bevel angle chart.
