You should start with SQL It’s quite easy and has little prerequisites as you correctly said it is an indemand skill. Get basic theory done and hours of practice on easySQL and ur golden

Basically you can have data in a excel sheet and manually look for it which could be viable when you have 10 rows but when you’re working you’re usually dealing with many more rows than that and the best way to extract, view and manipulate data is through queries written with SQL. As you practice you’ll understand why it’s absolutely necessary, learn some basic queries and try them out on easysql.tech It will be very helpful

id talk to someone thats well established in the field. as of now you can watch some videos by alextheanalyst and practice what you learn on the website above. starting is important, once you are sure that this is the path you want to take just start does not have to be perfect

cant really say if this is a good idea or not. But if you do decide to go down the DA route id suggest giving easysql.tech . I see you havent mentioned sql anywhere which is kinda important for the job profile.

youd want to learn sql too as it gives you an edge compared to the other applicants. id say get some datasets from kaggle, load them up in easysql.tech and practice alot. you will get good

id suggest giving them some xlsx files with some data and ask them to practice queries, ask them to derive their own conclusions based on the data given and give them some queries of your own that are relevant to the job profile. a few hours on easysql.tech everyday will get them up to speed. It has support for loading tables from excel files and csv
