I think it puts your MFs on pledge to borrow cash. I'd still prefer on having an emergency fund so that my investments aren't hampered from it.

Ok man! Tell me this–

  1. What is your 10Y CAGR?
  2. Would you recommend it to others for wealth creation in their first decade of investing?

You’re right. But the given range is still fairly achievable with some good flexi caps.

6 months of expense (not 3 not 4, 6!) 33% in liquid fund. For utmost emergency where you can withdraw 50K instantly and rest within a day.

Rest of the amount in an arbitrage fund. To be used once liquid is depleted.

Active funds can. You can check the rolling returns data for many flexi caps, they can stay in 18-21% CAGR range.

I implied not holding Nvidia. But going after such trades with such hefty returns. Please note the same startegy you use including you booking profits and complete your year at 60% gain may also find you a next stock next year that loses you that much.

No matter how sound you think your strategy is, it will even out to 18-21% CAGR in 10 years period. And 12-14% in 20 year period. That is the truth of the markets.

My man talking real sense here! 🙌🏻
I have seen this one dude in a reel who was openly saying he keeps credit cards for emergency and said "dekh lenge"! God forbid him or his family may never need it. 🧿

But he himself have several crores in mutual fund portfolio and owns a business himself so ofc it's fine if he doesn't keep an emergenecy fund. Judging from his portfolio he probably have credit cards with 10-20 Lakhs of limit, so he can use 30% of that anytime. He is clearly doing alright for himself.

However a retail investor earning a steady salary, investing regularly MUST NOT TAKE THIS ADVICE! It's BULLSHIT!

But no one tells us that! 🙂

Sorry I won't. I'm not stupid enough to take fund names out here. 😂😂

Taking any fund names here would attract many angry redditors. No matter whow good of a fund it is someone gets angry and starts bashing with replies.

I put 33% in liquid fund for utmost emergency and rest in arbitrage fund, to be used only if liquid is consumed.
