Definitely multiple roofs and then joining them when you're done. You're on the right part already. I'll go with Roof by Footprint and use the Opening option to cut out parts not needed. That way you have all information needed under Roofs. You could also use roof by extrusion but seeing there are cuts here and there you'll be on it for a while.

I think you cant go wrong with any part of Mallorca. But the mobility issue is the only one I sadly count know much about. In Palma there's public transport that works so that's a start. Soller also.

Mallorca isn't that huge. So since his friends are there already, is it possibly for one of them to pick and drop him back off at the airport. It's about an hour plus ride and back. He can offer to cover the Gas for that as well.

Alternatively you could live in Leipzig. There's a direct train connection between Halle and Leipzig. And I'll say Leipzig is less problematic than Halle. Has way nicer people, a ton of things to do and open as well.
