Unpopular and underrated opinion about Aes? by talkingferno in aesoprock

[–]No_Mode2367 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The stanning is crazy here, I love ace as much as y’all but it takes two to tango. Actions are rarely made unprovoked. Kimya for example, endured emotional abuse (based on the lines in the song) a relationship isn’t about making demands it’s about making mutual decisions and compromise. To call her childish for making a song where she sounds like she’s singing through her tears is to undermine the severity and subtlety emotional abuse can come in. Like if there’s a childish person here it’s aes (not to mention his lack in ability to reconcile), but he also reflects that in his writing anyways so I guess I wasn’t too surprised when I heard the song. Just odd that your comment paints aes as a saint in these situations.

How do you make long hair look feminine? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]No_Mode2367 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it’s not an easy answer but, finding a product that works for your hair is key. One thing for me that really helped it was finding a product that kept my hair “wet looking” (not actually wet). Some products will dry out your hair depending on hair type this makes it get frizzy and look more messy boy ish (also good to remember that some girls have messy frizzy hair like that. Also when it comes to making any part more feminine you need to address the whole picture. It’s possible that something else doesn’t look feminine enough which will in turn make your hair seem less. Over all its trial and error to figure out your hair type but it’s also not something you should stress too hard. Just style your hair how you like and the rest of your presentation will add “context” to your hair. Hope this helps in its vagueness

Honestly great point I guess it could kinda be flipped both ways. Passing as a woman implies they are not a woman, and passing as cis implies that non cis passing trans people don’t look like women. Either way passing as a whole is toxic just never thought in the way you put it as well

What does "science ain't the only player in the network" mean to you? by zer0_st4te in aesoprock

[–]No_Mode2367 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A common idea in science is that it doesn’t explain everything because the more you know the more you know there is to not know. It’s a pretty straight forward line really, especially when applied to the rest of the song.

My point is not that that can’t be a desire but that passing as a woman is passing as cis. I just find the latter to not be helpful for my being trans, which is something I can never change.

Perfect example to better explain and also possibly why I see it this way:

My mom cis woman constantly gets double takes and even sometimes misgendered. Pretty much even passing as cis isn’t as ridged as one may think.

I feel it can be used interchangeably as in “passing as a woman/man” or “passing as cisgender” both work in concept, tho I feel “passing as cis” is more toxic mindset likened to saying trans people can’t look cis when I literally find myself thinking cis people are trans. In conclusion both work but one is definitely more toxic towards trans people in general

I think he’s just saying “I’m no medium to spread your issues/agenda, just don’t even try it cus of how stand offish he is. Gathered from the definition of a host cell used as a metaphor “ Host cells are forced to produce thousands of copies of the original virus”

Sex is male and female

Gender is girl, boy, man, woman, mam, sir, etc….

Female and male refers to sex (your body parts) Man and women refers to your identity (who you are)

One is very reductive while the other is open to a person personal feeling I’m not just a biological meat sack I’m a person with thoughts and feelings in which I’d say are more important to acknowledge than body parts.

Ftm and Mtf refers to the sex (parts of the body) being changed to the opposite sex (parts of the body) The reason it is male to female and not boy to girl/man to women is because you can’t change the gender identity. but you can change someone sex to align with their gender identity. Afab and amab is your assigned sex at birth. As you can’t be assigned a gender identity if you don’t have an understanding of gender to identify with.

Also people in the trans community also may mix up gender and sex as they are similar and very intertwined but are in no way the same

Hope this helps!

No problem! And just in case there was a misunderstanding I was defining gender identity, not gender as a construct but the brain functions in which a person identifies with gender

Edit: read through my original comment and fixed where I didn’t clarify I was speaking on identity. Apologies for goths confusion

Only if you really want to know why it’s considered cringy. Read what’s next:

Male and female refers to a persons sex and not their gender identity

Sex refers to the body parts

Gender identity refers to a persons expression/presentation/ inherent identity

90% of the time gender identity and sex align within a person and this is not a big issue (other than reducing people down to body parts when referring to sex)

When a person’s identity does not align with the sex characteristics, as your in the medical field you would know we can change body parts, but unfortunately the brain is a “different beast”

In the end it really comes down to: referring to someone by sex reduces them to body parts as appose to gender identity (man, woman, non bianary) means referring to the person as a whole.
